I found out that most low budget amps actually have more hiss and distortion... So I'll rather go without an amp if need to use the Fiio. just my 2 cents
True, I used the fiio once and just realise that at the end of the day, it just make my music go louder, without much different.

are you using ipod or what DAP? if not i will recommend ibasso p3 as well.
-
come to think of it, jazz music was not bad as well.
-
well, once again, me being a safe buyer. I would rather spend the few more dollars to buy locally then online, unless been despo or cannot find locally. If not, I don't think it's worth the trouble. What happen if spoil, how to send the charges and etc, all these intangible worries or cost will be greater as a result.
-
well, my advice will be buying it from the shop like SE. It's much safer and easier even though it cost more.

hi, welcome!
-
jays are not bad too. Can consider the S-Jays. And also some Denon are not bad.
-
iirc, D1 don't seems wo work well with earphone. Even higher end IEM, cause of the impedance issue. But with headphone, no problem.

he heard us, the promotion is there! Looks attractive!

bass getting tighter and nicer. No regret yet!
I found out that isolation will be worst if you use the shure e2 flange. Best to use their stock ear bud.

Sales Close as I had found buyer!

go the grados way? the next grado model SR125i?

Just got my hand onto this new toy last week and is still running in right now.
Right out of box, the sound is not bad for it pricing. The bass is warm and full as compare to the few IEMs I used to own (creative EP 630, creative EP 830, Denon C360). But one thing for sure, it's very bassy. Listening to "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eye Peas, it's like bringing 2 sub-woofer nearer to your ear. Bass is tight and warm. Out of a scale of 5 with 5 being the bes, I will give 5 for the bassy-ness.
Not that much into the mid and the high range. So if you are listening music that are more towards the treble, I would not recommend this to you.
Comfortability, the fitting of this earphone is like the same as the one you find in westone earphone. It gives a prefect seal thus explaining the isolation of this earphone. Isolation is very tight and it comes with a stock double flange for sealing.
Build Quality is strong, as you will not have the feeling of "it's going to break any moment" kind.

ah gosh u guys have epic stuff. hmm i wld like to enquire the old birds here.. if i'm gna start a little room rig, should i opt for passive or active speakers? if passive, what amp and what speaker, if active, what speakers? hehe. also i think i will need a DAC as im using my laptop as source... any reco?
oh btw, budget would be about 1.5k to 1.8k for everything, and im looking to get 2.1 system for speaker as my room would be too small for 5.1 (sorta overkill to me) and if there are any leftover monies, i hope to invest in a little projector for movies with the sound system built. anyway, im not in a rush to purchase anything at all, so i just needa do some researching first. so if there are any future releases to look out for, do point me to em. =D
wah piang, your list like making a cinema lei. can invite me to go watch moive liao
Hmmm, i think for a room, it's good to go for a active one? Correct me if i am wrong. Unless you really have the cash to burn, then get those passive one.
My thinking is, get a DAC and a good pair of speaker, the rest will slowly come in. For DAC, the Maverick D1 is a good option. In fact, saving up more to get one also. Hopefully this year ang pao got increase. With the several option the Maverick D1 provide, you can connect another permanent source in there too. As for speaker, ehhh, I am not a pro here ahh, but why not get a headphone instead?

hmmm, from what i know, nowadays mp3 player are built in battery one.
Flash based memory mp3 player are very hard to find too!
Good amp i would suggest something like the ibasso t3?
For IEM, depend on the type of music you listen to. From what i see so far, maybe you need not change your current one.
