  1. yup i have a esw-10. i'm running it and my triple fi customs from a p-51 mustang. i wouldn't say the sound is degraded in any way. listening to both esw10 and triple fi customs, you can really hear the difference in sound types between the two. either bring out their own special portions of music. i'm happy with mine as of now.
  2. i just received my re-shelled tf10s today. the build quality is great although my colour was darker than expected, but that's okay. fit is awesome. was just trying it and i couldn't hear anything else other than my own breathing. sound wise, i was listening to some classical pieces, somehow the sparkle in the higher strings are not as present anymore. two possible reasons, the bass is much tighter due to the seal thus it overshadows the treble. the other reason was deduced by looking at the provided freq chart. i realised it was skewed downward towards the higher ends quite noticably. after a night of listening, somehow the signature has changed. whether this is psychological or actual i'm not sure, but i love the way it sounds now.
  3. i'm very delighted, and i must say, in all my encounters, stereo's customer service has been top notch. will bring the charger back asap.
  4. my previous 2 month old p2 konked out on me suddenly. the unit could not be turned on or charged at all. stereo very graciously exchanged for a new p2. i only exchanged the p2 unit itself as i went down to stereo straight after the first unit died. i took a listen at the new replacement p2 i received, and to my delight, it actually sounds much better than my previous p2. the previous unit did not have alot of run time so it was not really 'burned in'. the new p2 sounds much more open and i just love the SQ that's coming out of my triple fis now. exactly the sound i'm looking for. a check with the internal circuitry shows that the op amp used in the newer p2 is different from the older p2. the battery is different as well. the new one has a smaller lithium battery that's wrapped in blue as compared to the exposed twin cells of the older one. i have no idea what the diff in battery does, except that the old charger which i did not exchange, does not seem to work on the new amp. there are two led lights indicating charging, and fully charged. on the old system, the red light is illuminated constantly when the charger is plugged in and the green light only comes on when the batts are fully charged. however when using the new amp with the old charger, the red LED keeps blinking. i've left it on overnight and the green charged light never came on. will be changing the charger asap as well. just to elaborate on the sound change: bass is much improved, there is more weight, and yet more clarity. the treble feels very fine and beautified. midrange is somehow brought more forward.
  5. there are three gain settings on the rear of the p2. i'm using the tf10pros with these and stereo told me usually people will use the lowest or mid gain on the tf10s. on mid, i find i'm not hearing much details and the amp cannot go loud enough for some tracks. i am currently listening with the switch set at largest circle. is this how is it supposed to be? there's no way i'm listening to the smallest circle setting on these. it will be far too soft.
  6. you will want to consider the westone um1 as well. its really value for money. i really really enjoyed mine while i had it.
  7. i have gone from t1/t2 to the p2 that i am using currently. assuming you don't mind the size, the p2 gives a very noticable increase in SQ over the t1/2. do allow a week of casual listening to fully burn it in. the amp may not sound very fantastic at first, but believe me, it really opens up and improves after 3-4days. the t1/2 will give you a very enjoyable sound and is good for the budget. just be careful with the input jack. has a tendency to come loose if you knock it hard. very value for money. by the way i've heard alot of ppl refer to the cast iron casing of the p2 and the d series. its actually machined aluminium that has been anodised grey. if it was cast iron it would be incredibly heavy
  8. i tried it earlier this week. found it to be very uncontrolled and just bloated.
  9. i used the attenuator but noticed a severe loss of SQ. i guess its just something i have to live with then
  10. currently the hiss is so bad on many tracks that it is almost white noise. it is like having a plastic bag flagging in a hurricane right in front of your face that actually can rival the music in volume. the weird thing is that even within the same cd there are tracks that hiss and some that dont. it is actually very distracting. your mond immediately tunes in on it and just irritates the hell out of me
  11. ever since i've gotton my tf10s, i've noticed hissing in several of my tracks. initially i thought it was down to the ipod touch and my ibasso amp. however without anything playing, the setup is silent, with slight hissing only coming in at the extreme volume settings that i never listen to anyway. the second thing that came to mind was low bitrates of my mp3 tracks. a check with itunes shows that most of my tracks are at 256 and above, so i guess that should not be an issue. finally yesterday i bought a cd from an audiophile shop that was selling vinyl stuff. the music itself is really good, but there's some really bad hissing all around. i noticed the same thing with files bought from itunes, in that some have really bad hissing, while others don't, no matter that they're all at 128kbps. is there any way to remove hissing that's already present in the music? is it wrong to assume that cds should all be free from hissing or is there something that i'm not doing during the ripping process that is introducing the hiss?
  12. with regards to a line out dock on a ipod touch, make sure the dock connector itself is sturdy and strong. my dock's connection is slightly loose so when i climb stairs with it in my pocket the connection may be lost for a second...
  13. shures are even more overrated and overpriced.
