After reading good reviews about the Origin Live Upgrade Mat, decided to give it a try. It is available at http://www.modularaudio.com.sg
I was advised to used the OL mat directly on the platter itself, but this does not work well with my Technic's platter since it has a lip on the outer ring of the platter. The OL mat does not sit properly on the platter and it sounded bad.
So I did several combinations, using the Technics stock rubber mat and the OL upgrade mat (with the VTA adjusted accordingly; the OL mat is 1mm thick):
Rubber mat + OL mat on top
Ruber mat + OL mat below
Rubber mat reversed side + OL mat on top
Rubber mat reversed side + OL mat below
But did not like any of the combinations above...I still preferred the Technics stock rubber mat alone.
So, I thought I had just wasted my moolahs on this purchase, until I noticed the Technics DJ slip mat that came with the turntable when I purchased it, which I have chucked aside. So decided to give it a try...
And walah...finally found a combination that improves on the stock rubber mat, with the OL mat on top of the slipmat. Sounds like an unlikely combination, but it works, at least according to my ears:

This was actually a Yes album consist of former Yes members from the band's "classic" 1970s period - due to contract issue, they are unable to use the Yes name, as the new group called themselves "Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe", or simply ABWH.
I have totally forgotten this album. How good is it?
Have not listen to the whole album...a bit noisy from the first track so stopped playing...will give it a good listen after I have a chance to wash it.

For those looking for MONO's albums...you can order from here...much cheaper, but shipping is not, unfortunately:
-
An old classic...considered one of the best from the 1970's era.

Yes, two very long tracks.
Very experimental, I guess...not as polished as their later works. Sound good in some parts, not so good in others.
It comes with a CD as well...wanna borrow?

Not Red...black vinyl, limited to 3000. 3 LPs + a DVD (the first 500 of the 3000 are in different colours, seen the red and blue ones online).
Got it from Roxy Excel; just came in today.

this is not very you. not your style of music.
Heard the song "London Calling" on Youtube...kind of like it, the tune got stuck in my head...so got this copy off ebay...UK first issue at a good price.

Damn those capitalist pigs!
Hear, hear.
Anyway, in terms of LP, guess the German press is the best with the extra two tracks.
-
Hey, Ical...the two bonus tracks any good? Worth getting the Euro release just for the two songs?
I guess Kidult's right...all marketing...and $$$ for the producers.
-
German pressed should have two extra bonus tracks if i'm not wrong.
Thanks...wonder why they have to do this...adding extra tracks for release in different countries.

never expect i'll own this album. who knows one fine night kds5000 visited me with this LP, playing side 2 track 1 by Chris Cornell - Promise, i was like ok, fine tune. later when he changed to side 1 track 1 - Ian Astbury - Ghost, this was the track that hooked me up! similar rock hard sound did by The Cult (Ian Astbury's band).
the whole albumis truly enjoyable to listen. favourite tracks so far, Side 3 - Doctor Alibi (Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead) and side 1 - Ghost (Ian Astbury of The Cult).
Got this album from Roxy Ex yesterday upon recommendations from the usual suspects. It was sold out at the other record shops in Adelphi...didn't expect it to be so good...great recording too.
Ical...any difference between German and US pressings? Mine is the US press.
