Technical specs don't really mean much. You can always hope it's lousier than the W3.
yup..but then the word 'musician monitor' for UM3X description got to me and now they are saying westone 3 was meant for 'all rounder consumer' earphone and expects us to believe that the price is significantly lower for um3x because of it 'missing' accessories...

I see, ok thank you for the reply.

Heard it once. Think it's stock. Sound quite decent but not refine. You might want to drop by Ahfart Audio to judge for yourself.

yea, i heard ahfart are able to upgrade it with occ silver and blackgates.m wondering if i should order this since the balance out to my headamp or external dac would be interesting..
-
anyone has any listening experience with them? the stock and modded version??
-
i'd say the Atrios..
-
crap, then wats their point of releasing westone 3 at such a higher price and coming up with a model that seem technically better and even cheaper than the westone 3???
-
hmm...no specification on the headphone or the earphone..just the price and words will not move me.. maybe you should look around to find more reviews.

Thanks for the guide Morgan !
Some iPod LODs I made with Wireworld Oasis 5 and Canare L-2E5
nicely done.. now you are itching me to trying making a LOD to RCAs xD
-
thanks guys for the advice.
looks like not tough. thinking of joining the mass order for the vampire cable and make a simple one for my cdp to my millet.
@jacj6049 thanks for the offer bro. gotta get my rca plugs and cables first. =D
where is the mass order for the vampire?
-
yup, ive seen caps costing over 300++ also.. xD
-
30 each?? you are kidding right?
ok i take it as its freaking expensive already..
-
just wondering, can BG 47uf 16v be used in lods for imod? got lobang to get it at about SIN30 each.. dunno is it considered cheap or not?? =X
-
ok, thanks for the answer folks, does koba sell keepers too?>
-
Check out Koba Electronics. A forum member posted and said he got pretty good analog controlled soldering stations from Koba.
The wire mesh, i think those 3M wire scrubbers used to scrub pots and pans will do. They look the same to me.
wats analogue controlled means?
-
i'm thinking of getting a temperature controlled Soldering Station that doesn;t take up too much space, that isn;t going to blow holes on my pocket...but at least will be decent enough to do my diy projects for a considerable length of time.. my present current solder is giving me headaches with its oxidisation tip...and where can i get the wire mesh for cleaning the soldering tip..??
any advice folks?
thansk in advance

anyone has spare?
i'm looking for Single-to-dual Op-Amp browndog adapter
http://cimarrontechnology.com/surfacemountadapters.aspx
u can get it from farnell??
-
dude, you can get it from Alvin.
It works on non imods too. And thats where i am unsure what the impact on sound is. Havent really been listening to it, and no one has taken up the offer to do a review.
Koba got caps, but not these "expensive" and high end caps.
Alvin from where? which store har? and how much do they actually cost?
-
You used the vampires for left and right and the silver for ground?
yup.. well to each customer its own customisation preference....
where can i find caps like this in Singapore?
and are these only meant for Imods..? how about non imods? would a normal ipod classic have any difference to it??
i wonder if Koba sells caps as well..
-
Nice.. looking forward to the comparison review..
here are the my most recent lod i made for a customer
Its vampire wire with solid silver core wire terminated with pailicc jack
I tried making a iMod LOD today after receiving the caps i brought. Well, it should be interesting to some people, just thought i share.
VERY tight space inside. i consider myself super lucky that i even made it. The sound is, erm, alright i guess. Not that much different from a new LOD i recently developed, but havent post pictures of it yet.
i think the caps need to be burned in for a period of time before u hear any significant change in the sound signature. by the way, thats a tight squeeze but its nicely done =D
wats the full specs of your caps if i may ask?
-
Don't worry, it's much more reasonably priced in Singapore.
er is it more X than the Westone 3??
-
Anyone compared the two? just wondering whether the UM3's sound signature is similar to the UM2 - which to me sounded a bit bass heavy.... thanks.
er..got UM3??
Anyone compared the two? just wondering whether the UM3's sound signature is similar to the UM2 - which to me sounded a bit bass heavy.... thanks.
the westone 3 bass are said to be more warmer and balanced than UM2..but i suggest u go down and audition one and decide for yourself
-
where can i find the strain relief for Ipod Line out dock? any shops in SLT u guys know of that sells this?
-
i wonder why westone didn;t make westone 3 with interchangeable cables like they did for UM2...
Haha ok let me clarify myself further. The creative earphones have a greater bass extension over the W3. However, if you're going to start comparing bass definition, the W3 would probably win.
All that impresses me about the W3 is its ability to convey a "sound space" and the fit. I've never worn such a comfortable IEM before.
i think the koss sparkplug might just edge the creative earphones in the bass extension...xD .. and yes, westone truly makes the most comfortable IEM on the market..
Selling this DIY LODs...
