  1. If we would like to prevent people from being ripped off we can just tell how much and where the original stuff can be bought for. The pricing can never be wrong. If buyer and seller are both happy, even if the pads cost $1000, so be it! (thought if this is the case, something fishy must be going on).

If snr does not know about the $7.50 pads himself, he is actually already a victim of the rip-off. Besides, since he has no knowledge of it, we cannot blame him. If what snr has said is true, isn't it sad how a simple sales has caused him to be flamed?

(you should really have posted in the classifieds to prevent such harsh comments)

  2. Wow, 2 years and only used 30 hours? How's that possible? laugh.gif

IMO this phones is not dynamic, kind of give me an electrostat feel (though I have not tried an electrostat it just links me to that word). When paired with the equinox it gives a lot of air. Soundstage is no doubt wide and deep...

Edit: I heard that this pair of cans needs up to a few hundred hours to be at its best.

  3. I think you go and try if possible a few brands of cans first and buy the one u like best. Cable can wait. I don't think at this price range it would be worth it to change the cable unless the signature is absolutely so for-you that you can't find another cans with this signature.

  4. for the px100 i felt its a very muddy phone, and i thought the px200 was pretty darn good, considering its price. For the px200 there is a common problem which is placement. You need to try out. For me it sounds the best lower and behind on the ear, relative to the normal placement. Normal placement doesn't sound good. To me it certainly outshines the px100, which i couldn't stand, a whole lot.

BTW i think the extreme 3d effect is pretty much crap, it seems to sound wider but is actually causing more problems than it solves.

Try setting your own EQ instead (of using the useless 3D) on the iriver, its really useful.

  5. So far it seems, from what I have seen it is only Sony that has the short cord. IMO there is no reason for Shure or Etymotic to have short cords because if one really cared for the quality he'd probably bypass the remote altogether and plug directly to the headphones out. Otherwise, he'd have a portable amp. Actually I think its kind of a nuisance to have the remote control taking up the headphones out port also, isn't it?

  6. It'd probably not be that the 621 cannot go loud, but rather some problem witth your input, maybe its too loud, maybe too soft? I've tried blasting with my e1c on and they still arent distorting when they were loud WITH e1c on. Well, I'd say Altec Lansing didn't cheat too much in their power rating.

  7. Sony E-888... This one is the one which has the mids sounding less "earbud-like".

Aiwa V743... I wonder if you can still find this. Its really good for rock for its price.

BTW when on the bus most of the bass and mids will be attenuated and the best earbud vs so-so earbud wouldn't be that huge a difference. When its quiet yes, but not on the bus/MRT.
