  1. Hahaha...well it typically goes like this:

Wife: You bought new equipment? how much is it?

Me: Very cheap only la, $xx($xxx) (always about 10% of what was paid).

Wife: I don't believe, must be very expensive...

But lobster I believe your wife would rather you spend the money on these toys and toying with them at home than spending your time and money elsewhere where she doesn't even know or see...

Where you evesdropping on the discussion with my wife yesterday. Lol! But seriously, I'm lucky my wife doesn't audit.

  2. lol, I didn't know that.

Ahh, how to have a fair fight then

Just trust your ears. If it sounds good to you. it doesn't mmatter if it sounds crap to opthers. Considering you're buying this for yourself.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sounded the same. But My ears are pretty "bad" in the sense I end up hearing and paying for the difference.

  3. Hi,

I have shopped around in Aldephi and cant seem to find a I2S cable for connecting my Stello CDT100 to the DA100. Any recommendation where can I get one?

BTW, may I know where can I buy wall generic mounting brackets for my Denon S301 speakers (end of life product so the dealer no longer carries the brackets)

    Thanks

Actually it'll be a hard find locally. The only place that comes to mind that sell Audio relaled Digital and PC connectors is MusicLink at Shaw Tower. i believe they have USB connectors. There might be a chance they carry I2s. But it's still a long shot.

Why not buy from the web directly? April Music seems to sells them too. Revelation Audio Labs also sells one I remember.

As for the speakers. I can't really help. Sorry.

  4. where are you from? o.o and how you "migrate" the shock absorber? i always thought that those foams will be stuck tightly to the hdd.

and i saw this. looks fun.

but too bad the back plate can't be changed.

    I'm Filipino. =)

The Shock Absorbers foam and the rubber sidings are all attached firmly by dual-sided tape. Just imagine peeling off the foam too fast and ripping the Foam in the process. I believe it only provides little protection compared to the rubber siding but on HDs the more protection the better.

I din't like the I Vue. Makes the ipod look weird in my opinion. But hey. It does make if different from the rest. Also I like placing stick-on protectors like Invisible Shield and Gela Skin which will just cover up the Ivue. =(

haha.. I saw one copy "Dark Horse" @ Gramaphone Capitol

But that's not my favorite album though. :ppth:

  5. jojo, are you going to compile the bigdisk rockbox firmware? lol. and where you find the 240gb? tempted to upgrade my 60gb one.

I will inform you once I have time and compiled the updated the source code. I'm still reading though as I believe it migth take some work to get some other plugins to work. It's been a while since I did programming on another language other than .NET. Lol! =)

I bought from RapidRepair. I did some googling and it seems to be the cheapest (thought the HD can buy a low end CD player) if you include shipping.

    http://www.rapidrepair.com/shop/ipod-video-hard-drives.html

What's funny. When I checked the Hard drive. It was made in my country. Lol! Have to see if I still have old school mates in Toshiba. =D

I'm already at 110GB of music with so many left to rip. 80GB iPod full long ago.

Too large a collection. I see. Vinyl might stop you from amasing some more. Lol!

I was tempted to get the 240gb hdd too but my library is filling up fast.. 190gb atm

Wow!!! :shocking: Most titles, I've been buuying now are new releases. Aside a few oold titles here and there. I don't believe. I can buy too many at one go this time. =(

  6. You finally found time to install it :rclxms:

Now you can buy more CDs to rip and download to your ipod...wonder how many CDs your new disk can contain...

Installed it lunch yesterday and lunch today. It was hell as I had to use the original shock absorber from the original HD (which wasn't included in the new disk :shocking: ). It took me a while to remove w/o damaging the Foam lol. :bash: But installation is a breeze if no need to transfer those stuff.

But after installation everything is ok. Bad side is I'm locked w/ Apple Firmware for a while. As I learned the hard way that Rockbox doesn't currently support BIG DISK in its build (>137GB).

    http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/BigDisk

But I was hapy to see that I now have 220GB to use. Currently my CD collection of almost 100 CDs + or - are around 90GB+. I believe it will take me a two or more years to fill up with the slow pace I've been buying CDs. I have my favorite titles at hand already.

  7. To make it work. Make sure you have the drivers and software for your bluetooth dongle are ninstalled properly. Also check if your dongle supports the 2.0 standard and supports A2DP (Stereo). If all the pre requisets are met.

There should be an available option on your Volume control (The speaker icon on your Syatem tray). Right CLick the icon and choose "Adjust Audio Proerties" on the Audio Tab Choose the blue tooth Device (The Device should have been paired to the dongle already).

I didn't go to full detail as I'm not familiar w/ your bluetooth headset. =(.

  8. Research alone is not enough. You've to audition them as well to know which suit you better.

I agree with Cal on this one.

I remember a 4k CDP which even w/ good reviews wasn't as good as the Astin Trew CDP (to my taste that is). You really have to audition. Adelphi is a good place to start the trek. :smoke:
