I think you cannot bring a HA5000 here from Japan due to different voltages? Some good stuff to get there include the Victor HP-DX1000, Audio Technica W5000 and the big Denons like the D2000, D5000 and D7000. They're all closed but the Victor is supposed to be a soundstaging champ. The yen is pretty expensive right now, so actually if you're patient you might save more if you buy when the yen is cheaper, even when bought here.

I forgot to contribute to this thread. Compared to all the big guns out there, this is probably one of the cheapest setups posted so far. Stello DA100 + Stello HP100 + ATH-AD2000. iMod 4g feeds the HP100's second input. I've got Valgrind silver ICs coming to replace the Belden 89207 ICs in use right now, wonder how it'll turn out.

Maybe it'll have the bass of the PS-1 with the imaging and detail of the GS-1000?

The new owner will definitely buff and polish it, and hopefully get it Markl-modded.
