  1. err...with your flu...you should be listening to "I Will Survive"...

And replace "Beat It" with a more mellowed "Making Love Out of Nothing At All"...you don't want to injure yourself, do you?

I think in jig_sg's case, it should be "Making Love to Nothing at All"

  2. Hahaha... just say that I could but then also got more mood mah...

like the following songs, can pace my "rhythm" ... :P

    >> examples of some, please add if you know any good ones...

"strip for me babe strip for you, strip for me cos' I want you to..."

    or

"I'm too sexy for your love, too sexy for your...."

    or

    Black Eye Peas "My humps"

    or

the chinese song by Du De Wei "Tuo Diao"

or maybe Michael Jackson's "Beat It" can work also, quite fast paced...

    :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

So this is how you've been auditioning headphones and CDs....

  3. You should listen to turntable. Then you'll understand why some don't mind all the trouble just to listen to one LP. Btw, I thought uber moved from PC to cdp?

Does your computer look like this?

    IPB Image

Yes. if you open up the case, pry out your hard drive, open it up, you'll see it :) Amazing how small the LPs get now and they change the name from LP to hard disk platter

  4. Aiyah, Stax already very BIG soundstage, excellent resolution and super detail that's why the QR8 no work mah...

I agree lah, dynamic got lots to compensate for, that's why need so many tweaks..:whistle:

Actually, its more like SEX! It sounds soooo intimate and smooth like gliding your hand through the naked body of a beautiful woman... so fine is the resolution, it almost feels like as if you are running your fingers over the svelt lithe curves.. you feel every little bump... every strand of hair... every imperfection...

Music becomes engaging.... every note seems to tingle... the experience after just leaves you so weak and breathless...

Yup, dynamic can just throw if spoil cos' its a dime a dozen and totally not worth repairing.. I agree... totally.

Well, at least you're happy trying to make them sound better but in the end what you fail to realise is...

You are trying to make your dynamics sound like ELECTROSTATS!!:yes::yes:

    Yeah........ :prettyprincess::prettyprincess::prettyprincess:

No lah, decided to use them as footers for wood chairs, sure makes it easier to slide.:lol::lol:

  5. Uber, I've joked with ical about going digital but I have decided to go digital years ago. I have ripped all my Cds and movies into digital format and streaming them off my NAS (6 terra bytes of it) or Mac/PC.

I recently did get a DAC to upgrade my Denon DVD/SACD player rather than getting a new CDP for music only. IMHO, it did make the type of difference I was looking for. I knew what I wanted to change sonically and I went for one that may give me that effect. My Denon DVD player now sounded a little better (I would not say night and day difference), a little warmer (that is what I wanted) and a little more separation and air between notes and slightly better soundstage. Certainly sounded less digital to me now. By no means a big upgrade like getting a new CDP but a DAC does give me more flexibility as I can connect multiple sources to it (CDP, Ipod, PC) and play them through my system.

I do have to say the DAC I got wasn't cheap and the amount itself could have been spent on an excellent CDP. As I am quite some ways into digital format, my DAC will likely see more mileage than my CDP ....eventually. However, I am still getting a new CDP though for critical listening.

In summary, consider what you're trying to change or upgrade (am sure you do) and determine whether a separate DAC will get you there. Personally, a separate DAC was a good investment.

  6. Just came back from the event and I must say the place quite hard to find! Got lost somemore. Should inculde a map and direction guide in the invitation card. :bash:

Anyway enjoyed the finger food and drinks, met people like heady, shadowmoses, gene83(i think). Enjoyed my time chatting and listening to what they had to share.

For the HD800, I brought my HD580 to compare and I think the amp that was used didnt do justice to the HD800.

Auditioning time was quite short thou. Every minute counts! :D

Rating 9/10. Good comfort, sound signature is the type that I prefer. Good Job by Sennheiser.

Where exactly is it? Near the Temple along Muhamad Sultan? Ah Yat Abalone Restaurant there? Or further down near Robertson Quay?

  7. Haha! Will not get a HD800 not for the near future though. Until I get an amp that can drive the HDXXX properly. I won't be buying a High Impendance can. But I will surely buy something silver in color. I believe I posted my interest a few post back in this thread. =)

    Will or Had?

  8. how's the HF-2 shipping like?? more interested on Audeze Planars thou if they ever release:))

Think the look of PS1000 (wood/metal combo) with RS-1 cups. Smaller and lighter than PS1000 according to reviews.

Think the look of PS1000 (wood/metal combo) with RS-1 cups. Smaller and lighter than PS1000 according to reviews.

Most people are buying it for the following reasons (this is before it debut at the Canjam over the weekend in California):

    1) THey are already Grado fans and head-fi members because the HF-2 is supposely Grado sounding all the way. Part of the proceed goes to Head-fi.

    2) for USD 450, Grado fans/non-Grado fans can afford to risk it (eventhough it is about 200 more than what the HF-1 sold for). If they don't like it, since it is a limited series, they can still sell it easily.

    3) Because it's been marketed and hyped as the 'baby PS1000'.

I too share the pain. Unless I upgrade my AMP with something with a lot more Juice> It would be hard to get the best of the HD800.

Nice for my wallet though. :rclxms:

I am waiting for the completion and delivery of my Zana Deux LE :smoke: , which supposedly makes HD650 shine. I would expect that it may have some good synergy with the HD800. It certainly have the juice to drive the HD800 for sure. That still doesn't mean I'm going to get the HD800 :)
