  1. Nope...

Quoted from another forum thread...modified a bit. Hehe! :smoke:

"With bowls the .... have the rich inviting mids of the RS-2 without sounding as dull/rolled off or too forward like the RS-2. They have the bass of an RS-1 with flats and it's not overblown like the PS-1000 or PS-1, and the bass is also better than my old SR-325i. The bass detail needs work, and I suspect burn-in will help there - there is still a slight "bass cloud" over the music, since these are so fresh I think. The vocals are beautiful with these, and the re are no glaring colorations that I would like to banish yet with a re-cable or mods."

The BASS definition intrigues me even not having to listen to it yet.

    Grado's Head-fi limited production HF-2.

  2. Who you trying to bluff??

There's ALWAYS something you can spend your money on!

Hmmm... you may have a point there...

just when everybody is in shock :shocking::blink::blink::wacko:

maybe I can just walk out with a HD800 or two...

I'll be sure to bring along extra bags. Just chuck em my way when they are all looking at your six packs that spells out STAX

Six packs of STAX. It rhythms.

  3. Where you read that?

Taiwan tabloid :P My gf follows all these stuff. She is a strong minded young lady and have strong opinions about her music and her style of creativity. She has the attitude that she creates music of her liking and if people like it and want to buy it, great! if not, she could careless. She doesn't create music for sales!

This obviously clash with the marketing and business side of the music industry. Her producers and label had been pushing her to create music closer to the popular Pop culture and reach out to the masses. She disagree strongly and would rather quit music than doing Pop or popular music. She felt ashamed having to be in MVs of pop songs or performing pop music because she was so strongly against pop music and that her friend may view her differently (as in 'Look at Joanna, she used to be so against all these pop music nonsense and how low she stood now for the sake of sales and resorting to doing pop).

Her father and friends tried to convince her to continue on and not to get to hung up about it. But I guess at the end of the day, she can't live with herself doing something that she is so strongly against and stood against.

Yes I managed to see that episode. Definitely agree that she seemed very awkward. Though I wouldn't be surprised, she seems to be much better singing in English than Mandarin. Her New York Terror album is awesome.

I guess this shows some truth about the whole situation. She just wants to go on creating music of her liking. Doing mandarin is for the sake of tapping into the Chinese market....cha ching! Doing it for the sake of sales.

  4. Yes. My old one send for servicing so need one for shoot and as spare when old one is back. 15 inch, upgraded to 2.93Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and 256GB Solid State Drive. Super fast.

Muahahaha with these specs  , I wouldn't exactly call it SPARE would you?:grin:

  5. Don't think I want to meet you that day. Walking with you is dangerous. Don't want to be stone together with you.

I think he should walk into the HD800 audition with STAX in between's his ears and a T-Shirt with print "Stax is all you ever want in a dynamic setup!" :rclxms:

I was dizzy with so much stuff to try and look at. I got to compare a DT880 vs 701 vs a Stax (not sure which one). I am telling you, the Stax was amazing. I liked them more than the HD 800.

And then there is this guy who left UE (he designed their phones!) and started a new company (JHAudio at jhaudio.com). His new custom IEM's have 6 drivers per side! 2 for lows, 2 for mids and 2 for highs. What I was surprised is the big soundstage they have. And it sounded very balanced too. It sounded clear all accross the spectrum. All for 1100.00

  7. "even with so many hours of work I can't afford so many of those things in this thread"

Mmm, personally, i do think that hifi/cans is quite a snobbish hobby.

some kind similar to golf or sports car hobby lor.

More money usually equate to a better product, but the performance increment may not be linear to the price.

Luckily, there is still an additional factor of system matching. I.e. u bring in the most expensive components and put them together may not perform better than carefully chosen parts to form a coherent team.

E.g buy eleven most expensive players and form a soccer team does not equate dominance.

Chemistry and time to gel (run in time) are still essential.
