  1. Are any of these cowons, sanzas going to feature in the show next weekend? Typically any incentive to get these players at the fair?
  2. Xinz, I see. Is online/amazon still the best place to get Cowon?
  3. Sorry to thread dig and thanks for all the contributions... haven't had the time to come back to my thread. Can someone hence recommend a credible options for source? Cowon S9 and D2+ now retailing for how much ballpark? Took a look at these 2 however seems a bit overkill for my purpose as I am not looking for video-playing capabilities don't need such a nice screen. Are there alternatives with good sound quality but no snazzy amoled's? Thanks.
  4. no one else has suggestions on what I should be getting?
  5. Thanks blackmouth0 for the fast response. Musically I am a rock person, though I am not a bass head (is that still what those folks are called these days?). I gather you meant that my CK7 is still good enough for my future amp-inclusive setup; i.e. I only need to change my Iriver player?
  6. Have been using IRiver T10 2Gb Black and Audio Technica's CK7 for quite some years now. Was previously discouraged from buying any amplification by others due to my puny setup. Would like to try it now though. I would like to upgrade with the following items in mind, not sure whether possible given the budget of whole setup of player/IEM/amp costing less than 500 SGD:- More than 2Gb capacity, thinking like 16gb, but still flash Have grown accustomed to the massive battery of the T10, so would appreciate something along that line; preferably AAA/AA, not sure how rare that is these days. Reasonably capable of being paired with a good amp Y-necked IEM, similar to the CK7 Any gurus able to suggest items/pricing/places? Thanks in advance!
  7. it does sound no so great...even my Ex51 sound better.
  8. I can't seem to find suitable extension cords with lengths of ~50cm-1m. The minimum I found is one at ~1.8m, and it is thick and bulky, pretty unfit for a portable. Anyone can point me to a specific place to get these extension cords? I have checked the SLS V8 and other shops again, to no avail. Adhoc, the 30cm one that you mentioned, they have to be ordered through phone from Sony? Best if I can get a longer version of the little cordy that came with my SlimX IMP-550, those who have this Iriver would know what I mean.
  9. Just got my replacement earpads for my old HD490. Costs $16 at Hung bros, not sure if I have been had though. Anyone has any experience with these earpads getting all loosened up and uncomfortable? Thing is that I haven't really been wearing them, should not be due to wear and tear. The Hung bros ppl suggests that it is due to moisture, any comments on how to maintain these sponge earpads?
  10. Thanks... would you know if Hung bros carries these parts as well, SLS is more accessible for me. The HD490 seems to have parts that are pretty wear-prone, is there a Sennheiser that is more hardy, in the range of ~100-200 bucks? Genre is mainly rock and roll.
  11. Anyone knows where the best place one can get replacement parts for Sennheiser headphones? Would like to replace the earpads and head band on my old HD490. Does Hung Bros in SLS sell such replacements for Sennheiser phones? How much are they expected to cost? Thanks in advance.
  12. Gentlemen, thanks for the heads up. I'll get back on the cord again, update you guys. Another question. Specs wise, any major difference between the EX51 vs. the EX70/71? I noticed that my EX51 doesn't really noise-cancel totally.
  13. Just purchased a set of Sony EX51 (the low-end brother of the EX70/71). Pretty much went for the looks (even though the EX71 was well within budget as well), since the red EX51 looked really nice to me. Now I would seriously like the EX51's cord to be longer, just like to know:- 1) Are there stereo extension cords available for sale, and where is a good place to get them (male/female ends, with the male being a straight one since my SlimX prefer it to be so) 2) Lengths available 3) Will quality be compromised in any way with the extension cable? Are there better ones than others? Maybe I really should have went for the EX71; wonder what motivated them to make the EX51 cord this short. Any audiophile expert would kindly take some time to advise a newbie, appreciate it thanks.
