  1. You're right Mack in both the sound of Otari and the theory of compliment, we're heading to the right direction now. Next I think should be the listening part. Beyer seems a tad over the rim for me but I should be quite delighted to have MS-1 to start with. That also subject to how luring the more expensive options are. Thanks.
  2. Thanks Mackie for drafting out the one day tour. Make it a 2 days one night to play safe.
  3. The CDP I have with the phone socket is the Otari CDR-18 Professional. A Pioneer based player with stableplater mechanism. It also has volume knob for the phone. I agreed with most of the guys here, listening is the ultimate way to determine. I think after reading all the feedbacks, I can surmise that the MS-1 is ahead of the rest in the Grado family in terms of performance and affordability whereas Senn is tilting towards the easier listening sound. Not too much heard about Beyer thus far and I'm surely love to hear more. As for the Goldring that Joiful suggested I think it does warrants some serious consideration too. At the end of the day it boils down to which one suits the application most. Like if you're using a single ended tube amp, speakers with 82db may not be a clever choice no matter how good they are.
  4. I'm back guys, many things to settle. Yes home use. Direct from my CDP. No HP Amp yet. Are those models mentioned like MS-1(looks great), HD485 be driven without amp?
  5. I can't find my first posting and I thought that it wasn't successful so I post again. Anyway, seems like I have more choices now, MS-1(a Grado?), Goldring DR-150 and Senn HD-485 are pretty strong options but I got to find out first how much are the MS-1 and HD-485. BTW I'm looking for a headphone not earphone incase I didn't elaberate earlier. Thanks guys.
  6. Thanks Joiful, I'd just finished reading the thread SR-60. More info now but also more dilemma. Frankly I'm new to headphones and I'll go through as much as I can in SGH to get more info but would appreciate if you can leave me with more info about the A500 and DR150 like their prices and sound characters. Thanks again.
  7. Hi Bros and Sis out there, Before I head down to MBD for the SR-80, I would love to hear from you guys first. 1. SR60 vs 80, is the xtra $$ justify? 2. At the price of around the SR-80 or lower, are there anyhting from Senn, Beyer, AT or any others offer equal or better performance? Application - Direct from CDP. Music Genre - Light to heavy. Thanks boys and girls.
  8. SR60 Vs SR80. Apart from price, is SR80 much superior over the SR60? Still, which one do better playing direct from CDP? Sometimes higher model sounds worst if you don't match it with better set-up.
  9. Alright! That makes me much knowledgable in making my choice now. Tks Hansel. All rounder refers to genre of music. I'm into home audio so jogging in the park has never cross my mind. I'm using it with my CDP so clip on may not be crucial. I think what I want should be a Circum-Aural Headphone. Is Grado SR-60 one of those? Also does the SR-60 good in using with H/P amp for my future up grade? Tks.
  10. Hi N@Z Bro, I don't quite able to answer your questions. Which is the most critical among those? Also tks, Rameish and Kross
  11. Hi Bros, I want to get a pair of HP use direct from my CDP. May I know which all rounder should I get? Price-Not more than $150. Tks.
