  1. Sorry ... never tried on a laptop connected to a lcd.

Just using a Laptop with its own screen for me is ok.

I did however encounter a problem while using the iBasso. My pc actually hang at some point but I found that the problem lies with the buffer for ASIO4ALL. Simply just increase the buffer size and everything will be fine. No more hanging after that.

  2. Unfortunately the M50 is not in stock, (Walcult was looking for them, haha..) but you can audition the A500 anytime.

Just to add on, I don't mean that the M50 aren't good but for gaming and movies, they may not be my first choice for the budget.

Yup ... i was looking for them. My colleagues got it for me :) LOL ... no wonder they suddenly ask me about headphones and stuff.

so what will be your recommendation for gaming and movies @ that budget?

  3. Hi watcult , thanks.

Do you know the difference between A500 & M50 ? Does this M50 within my budget . Do you know when can I audit both cans ?

I don't really know the differences between them cos i have never tried the A500.

It is smooth sounding .. i feel the bass impact is sufficient for me.

I got it as a present so i am not too sure about the price but bluetin is selling them for $159.

Since Stereo has given his opinion about the M50... he should have them for audition. He is a friendly chap maybe he can advise you better.

    Stereo @ Causeway Point.

  4. Thanks guys ( and yotiao )... on two days leave relaxing at home and catching up with my exercise after a long break due to flu and cold.

Discount? What kind of discount? 10 cents off every $1000 purchase?? and all 10 cents will be donated to SGheadphones 2008 meet?

all 10 cents donated to SGheadphones 2008 meets ... whoa that will be a lot :rclxms:

How about lending out some gears for the meet? Easier for you ba...

  5. mp3? use creative mediasource player 5... (download from creative.com.. tech support section.. just select any mp3 players and look into their downloads)..

in terms of SQ, foobar loss out to creative mediasource player... even with asio4all... (make sure ur wave output is at the max)

hmm... maybe you can consider upgrading ur source to flac before doing opamp rolling.. else with mp3, it will affects ur judgement of the different opamps u intend to try..

Creative mediasource player? This is the first time i heard ppl recommending that.

I already plan to re-rip my cd using flac ... but no time lah :P ... so listen to my old mp3.

However, even mp3 i can hear some differences :)

  6. After almost 50hrs of burnin using stock opamp.. running through USB input Foobar2000 - playing 128~192kbps VBR mp3

Volume knob has never gone pass the 8'oclock mark.

Bass has tighter up and the soundstage has expanded abit.

Depth has improved especially for higher bitrate mp3 :)

Can even pick up some background whistling for some live mp3 recording which i never heard before... haha

Using the DAC, able to differentiate the harshness of lower bitrate mp3.

hmm... should i start opamp rolling now :P
