  1. I'm getting very fond of the E17. I use it a lot now when a computer isn't handy, with the iphone and L3 LOD cable, which gives really great sound and lots of volume. It sounds so detailed on 320k CBR MP3's I ripped from some "K2HD" Japanese CD's - I keep checking to see if I'm still running the E17. I've used it about 4 hours today at loud volume and the battery indicates about 1/4 used and 3/4 available. It probably won't last 16 hours, but it might get close to that.

  2. its is very beautiful. at the start the sound needs abit of getting used to and the fit affects the bass with the oval pads but its comfortable. my major worry after listening to them just a while i can see alot of sweat/moisture built up inside of the ear cups :(

You really should take them off before the sweat builds up too much and use a cloth to absorb the sweat inside the earcups, so it doesn't get into the drivers.

BTW, look up the DT-48E review at the B&H photo/audio website - the review by 'Audiophath'.

  3. interesting headphones. i think u should test with a higher end player tho cos apple devices eq not so gd in my opinion

I did set up the desktop computer with the Headstreamer DAC, and Foobar2000. Then I used the same EQ curve on Foobar, and the treble was pretty good, and the mids and bass got even better. So this P3 is one headphone that is much better with a good amp.

  4. No sibilants detected, the midrange was seemingly uncolored and to some may be dull, but i would say it was just right and natural. The bass was detailed and not emphasized as well, no bass humps just good bass, highs were well extended not shrilly but bright. Overall it beats the HD6xx and most headphones in that range.

That sounds near perfect. I wish I could get a bunch of those Shure foams without the earpads so anytime I get a bright one I can try the foam mod on it.

  5. STAX SR009 are possibly the best in the world, however it is exceptionally subjective.

Very true. It would be nice in a way if manufacturers could get together with customers and work toward some kind of standard of measurement that gets close to that "neutral" or "flat" thing. But on the other hand, it might not be a good idea. Sometimes competition is better than manufacturers working together.
