  1. thumbup1.gif i like the first shot, i think it works very well in b/w

are u still on the kit lens? u should post it in TrekLens for more gurus to comment on, it will help u take good photos when there's someone to point out whats good & whats not as good in the pics smile.gif

  2. Hey... if you're not happy with it, I'll gladly take it off your hands!

tongue.gif birthday gift for your son?

    u need the 300mm VR N@Z...don't need another D70 tongue.gif i'm keeping my D70 with or without the "s" laugh.gif

going to try and get some test shots with the 200-500mm Tamron with the D70 to see how good that lens is smile.gif

another good "walkabout" or travel lens would be the AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) from Tamron, want to try out this lens as well at the shop

  3. I really like the shots from that Tamron lens.

the Tamron lens may be a better match for the D70 then the Sigma, but i like the Sigma's F/1.8 feature which allow me to shoot in poor light indoor conditions, the F/2.8 on the Tamron does not remain at 2.8 when u do Macro focus, it moves like a zoom lens extending another full length of the lens body and the lowest F-stop u can get is F/5.6

also heard from a reliable source that Nikon is going to release a new D70 body next month, according to the source, this new body will hav the "s" like D2Hs, has the same specs as the original D70 (same CCD) he suspect that this new body will hav the battery holder/portrait grip option.

this is the guy u see behind the counter at Nikon road shows and the recent IT fair, he's also in contact with Nikon technicians.

  5. the "over sharpening" happen after i resize the pics, did not do any sharpening with any of the pics.

i did the resize using "Irfanview" this software givs the samllest file size with losing print size, if i use PS, the pics at this print size will be over 100k or 200k

the pic below was resize using PS, can see the difference from here. they are still the same print size, but the file size is different

  6. See his signature, does that mean he's already purchased a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8EX APO IF???

If not, go the whole hog maaann... one of these!

tongue.gif no N@Z i did not get the "big gun" laugh.gif but it makes a nice signature, i'm most likly getting the 90mm Tamron tomorrow, then i'll change the signature.

  7. Yes interesting effect, how did you do it blues? Zoom in/out after opening the shutter?

No fireworks here. Even the lion dance is a little restricted. Coincidently I saw one when I was accompanying my colleague to the carwash earlier this morning. Sadly my camera was in my car.
