felt that i'm really under utilising my SR60 with my current mini-hifi setup, after using it on the various setups today
maybe will get something like marantz cd4000
but then what amp and interconnects for this beginner CDP?
-
-
come to think of it, the case was one of the reasons for selecting MX500
being able to keep them nicely in my bag
-
i know it's sort of a step down from the SR60 i own
but i needed a portable headphone, at a cheap price
so i guess the lowest is the MX500
first comments
the cable is a bit too short, but i can live with that
also, i didn't know they were equal length
i.e. u don't wear one end behind ur neck
soundwise its much better than the non-descript earbuds that came with my pcdp

grado sr80 S$170
-
grado SR60 S$120
no need for amplifier
note: suitable for indoor use only
grado available from musicbydesign
http://www.musicbydesign.com.sg/
or u can approach rameish, one of our members here whose is a grado dealer

i like bikes too
me like to learn how to ride too, too bad parents disallow
i tend to prefer sportsbikes over the dirtbikes u posted
rs125, rs250, 916, R1 and so on
on 2nd look, the pics u posted seem to be dirtbikes with modified outlandish fenders, headlights
almost like something from a power ranger show

will be bringing
sr60
digital camera
tripod

oops...
i'm a fresh graduate, looking for my first job
so no car yet
don't think my first car would be an evo vii, probably more likely an old mx5 or mini
btw, i think the rear of the new rsk looks like a toyota corolla
and the front headlamps looks conceptually similar to the honda odyssey
but overall, an improvement from the previous iteration
-
hey fellow motorhead!
i think u can see from my nick that my fav is a mit evo
evo vii to be exact
methinks the evo viii is ugly, plus not radical enough
only diff is a 6th gear
hey i've seen a rsk in the multi storey carpark next to my flat
maybe i'll take a pic for u
it's front grille has been changed, but i like the original look
from the pic in ur link the new rsk is a real looker
hope subaru has turned round the corner in design
-
this time we've got to take pics
will bring my canon a70 + tripod

this is actually the main way i enjoy my SR60
of course there are some stations with better reception [&more bearable aoustics]
but sometimes they dont play the music i like
now i listen a lot to stations that may not provide the sound quality but are good on the song quality [of course in my opinion only]
92.8 for its dance mixes [i often record them to my pc [ok the sound ain't great but i get to enjoy them on my bus rides],
99.5 for its great jazz [i'm still learning],
91.3 for its imported dance programmes and mixes,
89.7 for its sunday rock show on 2pm [even though its in malay, which i don't really understand],
88.9 for the generally unbias news & john peel show

saw a review in hifi choice or what hifi for the dt231
quite good
but v6/7506 sort of in another class
dt231 around S$89 [if i didnt remember wrongly from hung bros]
its more for portable use, closed but seal is not that tight [u can try them on at hung, but at the tryout station, only can hear some classical music, also dont know what kind of source]
default velvet pads feel nice though
self adjusting headband is nice too, compared to my sr60
v6/7506 is more a dj/monitoring phones, used in lots of studios
more ex, S$200 plus the last time i saw the 7506 at sony sls [but that's overpriced]
they're bigger than the dt231, i think can fold
overall, i think v6/7506 more suitable for mixing
but u should try to listen to both b4 deciding
some web research via google would be good too, something i do whenever i want to buy/desire something
-
yep, but remember that they're a pair of very open headphones
i tried b4 using them on a bus and found myself having to turn up the volume higher then normal
-
koss headphones are found in many sls shops, depend on what specific model
hung perhaps has the widest range but do check around for the best price
-
looking for headphones for my CR-LD70 receiver
it'll be used for my PCDP too, but headphones for consideration need to take the low power o/p of the receiver into account
was wondering what i should consider besides the senn MX500 [around $30]
saw these labtec curve-465 clip-ons [$21]
koss ksc-50/55 [more ex at around $50]
isolation would be a good feature as i'm using them while i'm travelling in buses
any others?
thanks for any recommendations
p.s. just realised i'm being quite unrealistic, want cheap want good
hehe....
-
can consider dt 231 [$89] too, or MX500 [$33]
need it to be foldable, quite few choices lah...
PX200 is the only one out of the 3 you mentioned that is closed, but i think its quite ex
me also own a SR60, looking for portable phones too
SR60 cannot make it outdoors
actually equivalent closed headphones in the same class of SR60 is the MDR-V6 aka MDR-7506
but using these on a tiny iRiver receiver....plus its coiled cord...
btw, how's the sound of the iRiver IFP 140TC?
if i'm not mistaken, this version is 64MB rite?
can the radio recording be uploaded back to the PC?
and in what format?
sorry for asking so many questions
