  1. very nice huangyong, can it drive passive speakers?

is there any simple tube headphone amp designs? is it possible to make a headphone amp with just 1 tube? i hav never try a tube amp before...know nuts about building one  but i'm game to try  is it going to blow up in my face if i get it wrong?

U can take a look on S.E.X....by Doc bottlehead...at their web bottlehead.com , this is a one tube experimenter set...that can work with headphones... and speakers... but that would be high-efficiency kind of speakers... 90dB and above.... kicking.gif

  2. yap...Roberts runs the shop only by appointment..on Sat/ Sundays....

the guy had been in the DIY industies for more than 10 years....

i bought his copper OCC more than 20 metres...

my comment: very good for internal speaker wires.,

by the way : the silver occ that he sells is around 16~17bucks per/meter (if i can remember correctly),

if u guys plan a visit there , count me in.... and be prepared urself on the wonderful world

of "fullrange" speakers and low power tube gears laugh.gif .....

  3. Hi Bram...., hi guys...,

sorry for not participating in da' forum lately.....

(hard times @ work ) ...not even touch audio for the past 3-4 weeks..

what I would suggest...perhaps... probably some gathering...

exchange words and some DIY guy can do a mod, then we can watch

how he handle the solder / components..etc...

U will be amazed , how much you can learn from watching ...and of course

asking question to the groups... innocent.gif how bout that kicking.gif

  4. well...it's a very subjective topics.. different people has different ears and perceive and prefer differently form one another... , wheter u can hear the difference , u have to try it by urself....

if u can't hear any differences...then "why spend the "megabucks" on it" ?

buying audio equipment is ...buying something that u can "hear & enjoy".... not because the audio-guru

    says "he can HEAR it"

  5. Huanyong... u might want to look here..if u want to simulate the behaviour of tube rectifier...

    http://www.duncanamps.com/psud2/

small notes, u might want to compare how an RC filtering and LC filtering circuits....

some people claims by using LC filtering u can gain some sounds improvement..

and probably u might want to look at an improved filaments supply by using regulated DC

    for audio tubes...... biggrin.gif

  6. 2.Part no. 159414

    12VA 2x12V (S$12.00 each)

Guys...this one is not working...the specs of trannies is 230V or 115V primary with

2x12V seconday..., meaning it is a step down trannies...in real life application, u wouldn't want to work it as a step up trannies... sleep.gif ..

  7. HuangYong...are u sure thats the right P/S diagram ?

I dont see any logic to get 0-18V to get unto input of the second trannies

(if u really wire it up correctly...on the second trannies...It will requires 24 V there)

Actually what we can do is to get a trannies that have multiples secondary....

( i can get it custom wind locally....)

by the way.....it's abit weird to get the filament wire up in series... (i dun get it)

  8. well u got me excited here... laugh.gif ,

i would agreed that trannies and tubes doesnt need to be included.,

it'll kill us on the shipping cost... anyway..

Digi. how do u wire up the filaments ?

(paralled to all the tubes or different output from the trannies ? ?
