  1. read about it already, but dont believe will have that problem as i am used to my fc-7's CLAMP!

hahah anyone here paired it with a ldm+ or pa2v2? would like to hear how well this headphone does with an amp, as i am planning to get one :))

The 81DJ synergise better with the ldm. The pa2v2, imo, gives the 81dJ too much bass and doesn't have as much imaging. The details is slightly better on the pa2v2. The ldm+ on the other hand, has a more breathable sound and it opens up the bassy nature of the 81.

  2. Such Bracelet Display/Holder Stand can be found at Chinatown area, especially people's park and places that sell textile. But the problem with these are that they are light weight, and do not hold up cans on one of it's side well. :cans: Using it for my watches and the wife's jewellery though

  3. IMO, the AKG K81DJ can't even touch the SR60.

The sound signature is totally different. I say the Grado's are much superior.

Decide for yourself wad purposes your cans are going to serve and decide accordingly.

Correct. Akg 81's aren't superior to the MS1 either, but when you are using it as portables during your transit, that the AKG wins hands down for isolation and listenability at noisy places for under $120.

  4. To add on a minor point between the pa2 and ldm+, I found the built quality of the pa2 to be better. I had connection problems with the jacks on the LDM+. It came loose after a few use and the volume pot can be quite difficult to turn. Sound wise, pa2 has a warmer, very slight mid bass hump. But LDM has a better soundstage and a pretty obvious hiss.

  5. Best to contact gary at electric-avenues.com, his pa2v2 site. He is a nice friendly chap to deal with so you can direct questions to him and he will gladly reply promptly. He even entertain request for change of parts or even upgrade. His service is second to none!

I'm afraid other than waiting in classifieds, you'll have to get direct from his webby. Be careful ebay has other sellers selling pa2 more expensively so make sure it is Gary.

All the amps come with a serial number on the site, so it is very easy to trace an amps' owner thru his pa2 site.

  6. wow the cerabase looks damm power... :DD

    Are they expensive.?

the big ones look just about the right height i need..

The cerabase are a few hundred a set of 4 and can cost up to a grand just for speakers. Check with MBD for latest prices. The soundcare superspikes are cheaper, from $80(or 90) onwards from musiclink for 4 speaker feets.

    Soundcare

On the otherhand, you can use threaded spikes (cheaper options) available in most adelphi shops for under $60.

  7. i dont quite understand how a ipod works "putting songs into ipod" i need to convert into another format just to fit the ipod by then the quality will drop..

the normal way is to drop your mp3s into itunes and sync with the ipod when connected. If it is in other formats, wma/ogg/flac, reconversion is necessary.

when i try my nano and psp i find that my psp sounds better ?? lol :helpsmilie: funny

Like I said in my previous post, PSPs have this great "3D" reverberation effect on the music. Great for the supplied buds and casual listening I guess. But overly done just like those PC soundcard DSP that gives "3D sound" effects.

  8. okay, seems like you are looking for using the pumice with the bearings as feets? I saw plenty of pumices at larger guardians and watsons. Citylink Mall Guardian, Bishan Guardian and Takashimaya Watsons has alot. Sizes are about the size of those thick tissue packs, not those 25cent coffee shop kind. Are those what you are looking for?

Anyway I'm using soundcare superspikes for my speakers and XS. I can't discern any difference from the soundcare feet on my XS, although I noticed a little improvement when changing to a suspended rack with the feets still on.

  9. PSPs are terrible sources for music listening, but you may be mislead into thinking how great they sound on first attemp. I heard my first PSP in the army watching an MTV and thought they were great (because I was bored dead spotting enemy in a trench during an exercise)

They have this great "3D" reverberation effect on the music that sounded compressed and unnatural when I began listening to it critically, but for movies and games, they are great!

$230 is a little too much to spend on an IEM for PSP usage. Any good and decently cheap canel phone will suffice, and you might be better of with a Can for your computer. But you should know better. Decide based on your usage.

  10. In "audiophilia" there's a blur line between DIY and commercial products. Simply because everyone wants to get the BEST out of their components. It's can range from DIY amps to modified commercial players costing a few dollars to a few grand.

Every equipment has different sonic qualities and price. Often, price doesn't equate to quality or to be more specific, the most expensive MAY not be the most sweet sounding equipment for you.

The key to audio nirvana is "flavour". Pick the sound you like and match your components to it. Brands doesn't matter.

For a start, the more common amps available here are the LDM+, Pa2v2, XIN SM3/4, XS708, LDII, Original Masters, RSA Honet, firestone amps, Go Vibes, cmoy, soha, yaha, ppas and many many more..

ICs are mostly customs. From Stereo's custom ICs to Jaben's, or use the supplied IC that came with you amp, and the more experimental ones will diy anything from canare/belden/PCOCC even silver cables.

And as usual ONE is NEVER ENOUGH, SORRY ABOUT YOUR WALLET. (you may not understand this quote now, but you will SOON~ :bruce: )

  11. Well, actually it's quite simple to do, although i'm not too sure if anyone can custom for you.

There are many combos to try. MDF with steel frame or acrylic shelves and stainless steel (low cost or high cost respectively)

MDF: Go down to Ban Heng Long @ syed alwi near townshed road, buy a large 4'x8' and ask them to cut to your shelf size and they'll drill holes for you too. Cost around $32+ cutting cost

Steel bars and nuts for bolting together can be got from Homely (they have both stainless and normal varieties, and they can cut for you plus machine down one end into a spike for you)

All you need is varnish and time to put it together.

nearly wanted to make one, but got a Queenie rack instead from KEC.

  12. omfg! u sure!

    thats quite a sighting!

i'll be overexcited to see anyone else besides zonalblitz in my sch using sf5pro.

oh yesh, the amount of money these rich peeps spend on looking good for exercising. All those workout attire and shoes when all they do is yoga and some step exercise. Anyway around craig/neil road and club street area you will see all sorta toys. Photo studios with some nice speaker setups, post studios with mini screening rooms and all kinda toys. Ever saw a bunch of tai tais arriving with some nice looking vertu phones shopping at UE square once. sigh, when will I EVER earn this sorta money lol.

  13. You guys havent seen the most IEMs at a single location yet. California fitness gyms got a whole lot of sf5pros, bose a8, couple of shures, but not much westones accompanying the whole lot of ipods.

today during peak hour rush at clark quay outside satchi&satchi spotted a chinese with an akg 701, a expatriate with a bose triport and a cool lady (eurasian?) with wooden Grados!! :notworthy: Is it anyone here?!

  14. Ooh.

So how much more is the bullet plug than neutrik caps?

What's a better power cord than 83803 with $10-20 more?

I don't mind spending more money for cables as I know I can reuse later.

But I want it to be warmer/dynamic sounding, cause I prefer warmer sounding though.

    haha!

    Thanks again!

I believe he meant getting the 83803 at $10-20 more than the 19364.

Bullet plug from LOK cost 15-20 EACH versus 20 for a pair of the neutriks. There are more expensive varieties if which you can get at musiclink (beach road shaw leisure gallery)

  15. talk about crappy earbuds...

i was in school yesterday and my friends were asking wats those earphones

thats sticking out of my ears.

told them is UE SF5Pro... huh? was thier 1st remark.

nex ask me how much... i said >$400. they were like "you crazy! can buy ipod already"

i ask them to take a listen... guess wat thier reply was?

"same wat... nicer sound meh... the earphones provided by ipod is better than ur $400 earphone loh!"

    i nearly commit suicide... :bash:

You're coming from a "sound" perspective. They are just trying to stretch their dollar. try not to pollute their young minds at such a tender age. LOL.
