alphaex 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 officially poisoned. went to audition the um3x today. im gonna make a huge jump. currently having very low end buds. so im intending to save up for the um3x. before you ask, i've tried the um1s and w1. but i wanted to go higher after much need pestering from gf who asked me not to waste money. now my question, on my fiio with the um3x, the jump between each volume point is very high. should i get another amp for the um3x? or go ampless. i dont want a bulky amp. im considering martini, .22 or derringer. kneth 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) i would suggest for you to go ampless for a couple weeks as an option as the um3x already sound pretty darn good ampless. however, if you're still dissatisfied after that.. you can probably start auditioning different amps to find one that suits your music tastes.
