nekatrall 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Got this kit off someone finally got time to start building it will try to update building so far manage to solder all parts with no problems and if money and resources is not an issue it the heatsink will be taken from a cpu tower heatsink to give it a more steam punk look slight alignment issue but not a real problem Edited December 8, 2011 by nekatrall

nekatrall 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) since the top case and front plate was slightly misaligned i decided to remachine and use brass plate instead as it would work as a better heatsink too this was done on 6 dec 2011 then the next day some laser cut deco tapping the holes planing which turned out to be a bad idea may be sand blasting it instead modified cupboard knob to be the tuning knob leading to today some remachining cos the switch cant fit another tentative outlook with tubes wires using 18awg spc abit stiff fully done up for now now need to wait for the sandblasting machine to be cleared to finish should take 2 work days left 1. sandblast+lacquer(24hrs to dry) 2. wire everything up epoxy the heatsink and done Edited December 8, 2011 by nekatrall

nekatrall 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 hmm sounds better now the brightness have gone and the clarity is amazing with all 3 of my headphones only prob i got a lousy dac so the source is my S9
nekatrall 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2011 currently the only achilles heel is i dont have a dac hmm listening to it using an iem makes the ground noisy but over all adding an attenuator solves the problem but overall smoothness and musicality is shiok
