ATH-A900 & A9X

found this model on the Japanese Audio Technica site ATH-A9X there is also a A5 to A9

 

anyone knows whats the difference? with & without the "X"

 

then there is another series - A500 to A900

 

looks like there is only a color difference, or maybe its ment for different countries?

 

comments anyone?

A900 is the newer models.. incorporating the new DADS system.

A9x and those older ones , (w100 included I think)don't have this new implementation. it's supposed to provide with a better soundstaging and bass, if I recall correctly.

And yes.. A900 and A9x are not the same . Infact A900 is meant to actually 'replace' the older A9x models.

 

What about the review in head-fi?

 

I think not many people have owned the audio technicas so it's hard to gather the comments from here. Especially the lesser open air technicas, and to some extent the titanium housing ones

I am not sure of the difference..

those are quite old model and my knowledge is quite limited about AT cans

but the x ones are nicer looking loh.. (shiny)
