Rameish 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Grado headphones (when new out of the box) should have a headband that is circular (or very close to circular). The pads should be almost touching each other. If you bought yours used, they may be too big and you should tighten them by removing the pads and bending the headband such that the driver housing touch each other. For those that have bought their Grados new and find them uncomfortable. Try bending the headband to a U shape instead of O shape. You can do this by grasping the ends of the headband in you hands and use you two thumbs to press inwards while the two pinkies pull outwards (imagine holding a drum stick and hitting the the drum). That's the wrist motion involved. Although the headband is made of metal and is very robust - please use common sense. It is not an exercise machine LOL. And, to prevent any liabilities on my part, you do this as you own risk okay. If you feel uncomfortable doing it I can do it for you (no charge :-)

Rameish 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Fishball, Remove the pad and do the above in the opposite direction. That is thumbs just below the Left and Right markers. Hope this helps - Basically bend it back to the round shape. Do this gradually and carefully as you don't know how often the original owner bent the headband. Basically you don't even know if he was the original owner. The headband is metal so its quite robust but even metal will break if you keep bending it back and forth repeatedly.
