tropicalrips 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 saw this on head-fi and decided to try it for myself the original spacing on the IC holder was too far apart, so i had to solder "legs" on them to bring them closer for the SOIC op-amp the completed op-amp soldered to the mod IC holder the final product now being tested on my V3, the SOIC op-amp is an AD8620, it has better specs then the NJM4556, higher speed better slew rate, only the current output is a little lower then the 4556. the SOIC chips were too small for my camera to focus properly sorry for the blurry pics. the AD8620 makes the amp sound "energetic" more detailed on the mid & highs, but the bass seems to be a little bloomy i'll be trying out the same mod on a Maxim direct drive op-amp tomorrow to see how that sounds Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
