Q00 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2004 Just yesterday, i was handed a package by a relative. Turns out that its an old pcdp that was rarely used. I thought that it would be something that i would just chuck and junk away but as i looked through the specifications, i grew excited. I think i may have a rare gem or it might just be a dud. According to the package, this pcdp has "8x oversampling filter", a headphone out, line out, digital out. Its a class 1 laser product with a 3-beam laser. It has an wireless remote control and a wired remote control with headphones. Initial listening with my Sony MDR-7506's straight without an amp was a bit of a mixed plate. The player sounded fullbodied and had incredible detail, more so than my other pcdp's. I kept plucking details that i never heard before on a cd i thought i knew very well. On the other hand, the low end was feeling a little loose and uncontrolled. I think this might be due to the fact that the pcdp was rarely used and kept in storage and in good condition all this while. I may let it run in a while but the rechargeable batteries are shot and im running out of space to plug it into the power socket. Im using some batteries i found and im letting em play a while but i dont think they are gonna last the distance. I wonder if any of you have had any experience with this player.
