DiGdUb 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2005 its funny how many phones are 'made for apple', but in fact are more suited for other players. like the er6i and e4c. what apple players need are either phones that has higher impedance or is more bassy in nature. "iM616 is based on Etymotic’s ER-6i Isolators, but with a different physical design, while iM716 is a tweaked version of the ER-4S series with around 90% of the original’s clarity, and a revised sound balance that defaults at enhanced bass levels - then offers a second bass boost via a switch on the in-line control box." Ask and you shall receive. I guess it's more of the aesthetic portion that is compatible with iPods for many earphones, rather than the functionality. Absolute0 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 Well the iM716's are tweaked by Altec and not Etymotic unlike ER-6i, so I guess it's likely to be a different case. IMHO, a proper seal is important, but at the end of the day, the limiting factor is still the bass output capabilities of the earphones.
