HELP! Inner ear foam for my Sein r Rotting Away!

Recommended Posts

Ok so i got this pair of sein's i got a couple of years ago. I cannot remember where i got it, except i paid like 180 for it. I've been using it so much...that the inner foamies are peeling away...so it's exposing the drivers. yucky.gif

Also..the velvety material that skins the cups is starting to show its age. Its starting to also give an unpleasant smell (what with the sweat and all while headphone.gif) lol.

Shd i ring the folks at sein asia or something?

(First post!)

note: I'll also like to add that the rest of the 570 is still going strong.

the inner pad should be changeable i think.. i've got a pair of old px200 which i ripped all the pads out with ease

Thing is...its pretty damn uncomfortable because back then when it was good my ears are touchin the foam "pad" instead of the plastic frames housing the driver.

try tugging the sides.. you can probably strip the pads and replace them..

That can be changed with other material such as pantyhose. Have a look here:

You should be able to wash this, although i dont really know how but Im sure it should be the same as washing the pads for dt880 as instructed in other thread.

Thanks for the links cron...

I read a bit of the posts but what i'm curious to know is how they can "remove the foam" so easily.

There a relatively jagged hole in my right cup where the thin layer of foam was. THe left one is starting to give away (but in better shape) than the right.

I have the urge to rip them all off w00t.gif

And how do i go about removing the material to wash?! blink.gif

In order to get into the foam you have to take off the pads first. This is how to take it off:

http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_e...e/HD570_bda.pdf

scroll to the last page

Once it is off, I believe you could easily lift up the foam. Sorry I cant give you the exact answer since I never have hd570

so it is better for you to double check with other member about this

This is another link that might help you to wash the pads. it is for hd650 but im quite sure it works for your cans:
