Review: Beyerdynamic DT880 (2005-06 version)

hmm ic...thanks for the input

 

i was considering the DT770 as well but i read that its harder to drive due to the high impedance.

 

i'll be using the cans on a

- YAMAHA RX-V359 5.1 Receiver (for home listening)

- Soundblaster X-Fi XtremeMusic (for PC)

 

Would it be good enough without external amplification?

 

What are the advantages of high impedance anyway? (pardon my noob-ness)

 

...also, im currently using a pair of Sony MDR-CD780 headphones and i love the comfort of the cloth pads.

hence the velour on the DT880 was also one of the reasons why im eyeing on it.
