kehyi 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) i'm on the lookout for the 'best' portable closed headphone too... i guess it depends on how portable and how closed you want your headphone to be (and how much you're willing to pay for it ). i think it's debatable how 'portable' these professional monitoring headphones are. they're not really designed to be worn on the go, you know. anyways, do give the AKG K81DJ a try. Of the few closed headphones i have heard, the K81DJ has been pretty impressive, esp considering the price. But again, bear in mind that they are not designed for portability... truth be, i've not heard a closed phone that's as good as my trusty KSC75... maybe it's impossible (open vs closed etc), i dunno... Jeremy 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2006 So which would be the killer setup for your ipod? the hd 25? hd 280pro? Moderator edit: Moved into the Portable Audio Forum Had not listened to the hd 25 but I owned the hd 280pro for 1.5 years already. The only problem is the 64 ohms which is a bit high for any portable player to drive it no doubt u still can. The sound is warm & detail. I choose this because it enclose your whole ear. Isolation is very good & u won't feel the heat wearing for long. Regards.
Zephyron 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) I had the chance to audition the Sennheiser HD25-1 back in my school. I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me or not, but it sound shockingly like the E4G O_O Add: Oh, the HD25-1 is 70 Ohms in impedance, stated on the headband.
