jarthel 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 u diy ur headphones amp urself? Teaken, dont be surprise. it's actually cheaper to DIY if u know how. plus, u can build it to your liking well DIY can be more expensive that buying it myself if parts used on the DIY is top-notch. So this statement is not always true. I think my gilmore is more expensive to the one headamp.com is selling. and this is due to parts selection.

jarthel 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 Any 'lobangs' for pcb etching? hehehe i don't know what "lobangs" means but since I work in a university, I had the PCB for my Gilmore done in house. I think it's $90 AUD if I sent it down south to be etched.
Sipher 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 i take back my statement just now i know my statement is not always true. i guess if u follow the standard parts, it will be cheaper than commercial amps?

Singlish, Lobangs == 'Good deals'. i.e. If you have a friend who's a distributor for a product and can sell the product at a lower price than retail, you can call him/her a 'lobang'.... jarthel 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2003 i guess if u follow the standard parts, it will be cheaper than commercial amps? There are levels of commercial products. You have mid-fi brands like Denon/Marantz and you have your hi-fi brands like Arcam, MF, Wadia, Krell, Naim and others. Though I must admit that brands like Marantz and Sony products mid-fi and hi-fi products.
