zbwu 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2006 (edited) I'm planning to recable my HD555 and I would like it to be brighter sounding, and I prefer clarity and soundstage over bass. Can anyone recommend me which cable to use? What about braided PC-OCC cooper? (found it in a thread here, looks pretty cool) Edited December 1, 2006 by zbwu

loop_ 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2006 (edited) get silver plated cables, they are bright!! Yes agree, if you get the correct one they are very good, but I think unless you want to get thick cables meant for RCA termination (eg Supra's EFF-I), it might be hard to find good silver-plated copper wire locally. The next best bet is to look at silver cables. I really like the UPOCC copper wire mentioned in ahfartaudio's website, but I would not use it if I want to make my setup brighter. I haven't tried the silver though, but it should be good. Edited December 15, 2006 by loop_
zbwu 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the suggestion! BTW, I've settle with Canare StarQuad. I'll start doing the soldering after I get the heatshrink. EDIT: Should I solder the shielding to the ground, or should I remove the shielding to make it lighter? The cable is 3 m long.
