Thanks in advance. Just took the plunge yesterday and rocked my X5L. Esp since my warranty has long expired and was inspired to do so aft reading the following review: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/20...o-x5-review.php Installation is almost a walk in a park. Just have to follow the instructions found in iAudiophile forums. The good thing is that dual booting between RB and the orig F/W is possible. So you get the best of both worlds. I've not explored all the features yet. But as for SQ wise, there is no difference. RB kinda unleashes the full potential of the X5. Gapless playback is now possible. To put it simply: X5 with the orig F/W is a fantastic mp3 player X5 with RB lets you enjoy the full potential of this fantastic mp3 player hope this helps. x3bandy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Nope. Battery life wasn't affected. So far the only complaint is the display of chinese characters.
