a6laze 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2007 From what I know, the correct way to set volume levels is to set the level of the source at maximum and adjust the volume of the power amp accordingly. Is the knob on this monitor a volume control or input sensitivity control? There are markings like +4dbu, -10dbv. So if my soundcard line output level is set at consumer -10dbv, I turn the knob to the -10dbv marking and leave this setting constant and control the volume on my soundcard ? But If I do this then the volume from my soundcard can't be at maximum as it will be too loud. I do think that it's a volume control though because as I turn it up, background hiss increases. But if it is, won't it be too troublesome to have to constantly adjust the volume knobs on both monitors with the soundcard output level at max?
