zer061zer0 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2007 I think i have been having lots of questions recently. Anyway if anyone have any experience with air-core coxial cable as interconnects. The cable have a centre solid core, followed by a structure that create air-core, or air columns. The shield then cover up the whoel internal structure followed by the insulation. Anyone knows if this sort of construction is beneficial, anyone with any experience on it.

milkpowder 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 Nordost uses something similar on their top-end cables and so do Tara Labs on their midrange cables. It's basically increasing the volume of air around the conductor, dramatically reducing the dielectric constant and increasing propagation speed. I personally haven't used cables which aggressively advertise their use of air dielectrics and neither can I see why it would make a dramatic improvement on the sound quality. zer061zer0 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2007 i see.. i just found some raw cables with this structure and was wondering if i should try them out. Though if i try them i may be using some cheap neuttrik plugs
