zer061zer0 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2007 I think i have been having lots of questions recently. Anyway if anyone have any experience with air-core coxial cable as interconnects. The cable have a centre solid core, followed by a structure that create air-core, or air columns. The shield then cover up the whoel internal structure followed by the insulation. milkpowder 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 Nordost uses something similar on their top-end cables and so do Tara Labs on their midrange cables. It's basically increasing the volume of air around the conductor, dramatically reducing the dielectric constant and increasing propagation speed. I personally haven't used cables which aggressively advertise their use of air dielectrics and neither can I see why it would make a dramatic improvement on the sound quality.
