Practical Devices 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Hi everyone... Practical Devices Corporation has released the XM5 Portable headphone amp. AFAIK, this amp represents the most features ever squeezed into a portable. Strong, clean, smooth, unsurpassed sound quality is made possible by the XM5's four-chip amp/buffer system: a two-chip ultra-low-distortion FET amplification stage, mated to separate two-chip output buffering, all in a monoblock configuration. The four gold-plated sockets allow for rolling amp chips and/or output buffers to exactly suit your taste. Available in two colors: black/black, or blue/silver. We're pretty excited about this amp - it really does have a lot to offer. Key Features: USB DAC (44.1/48kHz) Buffered Output Monoblock channel configuration Quad gold sockets, for rolling amps and buffers Switches for: Bass, Treble, +10dB Gain Boost, CrossFeed, 75O output impedence, and USB/Line-In select Variable Active CrossFeed Auto power-off Robust, all-aluminum construction, fits under a credit card +103dB SNR .001% THD Low-battery indicator Lithium-Ion FastCharge 1-hour no-hassle universal charger Intelligent Microprocessor control Looks, feels, and sounds spectacular and lots lots more.
