desmond 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 My UM2s are out of warrenty, after serving me for 2years. The cable relief has come off, and just yesterday, the sound of the left side is noticeably softer than the right side. I guess I have to send them back for warrenty already. Anyone else had this issue before and sent for service while out of warrenty? I don't really want to pay another $100+ to fix my UM2. Does anyone know how much it costs? tassardar_ 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 Where did you purchase them? Maybe you go down to the shop and ask. Its possible they can do something about it.
Stereo_Electronics 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 You might want to try putting your UM2 in a air tight container with some silica gel for a couple of days. Sometimes due to too much moisture, the armature drivers might become softer. The max warranty period for Westone is 2 years, 1 year local and 1 year Westone USA so if you're quite sure it's over 2 years, send Westone an email for a repair or RMA quote. Sometimes they might replace/repair the UM2 free but you'll have to pay for shipping.
