Thanks alot, still very new to audio stuff... need lots of advise from u guys The type or make of the amp. you chose will depend on your music preference (ie. sound signature, presentation of the bass, mid and treble etc.), the difficulty of the load it is required to drive (ie. full sized headphones or iems) and the matching with your other equipment (ie. cables and source). And not to mention the type of size and cosmetics you may prefer. Selecting an amp requires you to know what you are looking for. Your best bet to find out, if you have not already found out, is to look and see, and to try out as many amps. as possible, before finally deciding. But do remember that it is you who will have to live with it - so, buy something you like and not what others think you should buy as what they like may not necessarily be your cup of tea. nofing 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Something neutral? iQube? But that would be out of your price range though... Or you could consider the mini3 with different opamps to suit your music preference?

slowth 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 BahTeng, check out the corda headsix amp... there're many good reviews on it online.. and it's one of the more neutral amps out there.. i love the sound on mine and like you,i love vocals and jazz on it.. acoustic music is great too! Brand new including shipping in would be less than 300. Corda's are pretty well known for great sound and build.
blackmouth0 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 yup, imo i tihnk that viper is also a god choice la. Given the size and sound. btw, that's the model that can do op amp rolling right?
evilmerlin 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 Yup. The new D3 Python seems to have some favourable reviews from Head-fi but thats just slightly out of your budget. Do you need a DAC? If you don't need one, the P3 Heron is worth trying too.
BahTeng 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 Did not expect so many replys from u guys. really helpful guys from sgheadphones i dont really need a dac cos my source is only my ipod, no Coms. quite interested in the ibasso heron, is it in singapore yet? so many amps to choose from.... really
mimi 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 (edited) What headphones/earphones are you using? You should definitely test and try the amps at our friendly local shops, but if you aren't able to, then the ability to tweak the flavour of the sound conveniently, e.g. thru rolling op-amps, would help mitigate potential buyer regret.
