  1. Been doing some more listening to the 595s. Im so very happy my dad bought them. I perfer it over my DT880s and SR125 ( At this moment that is ) 1) Bass is not very "thumpish", but it has energy and most importantly, musicality, and it goes quite deep, which is immensely statisfying. 2) Soundstage is good, not as good as the DT880 ( not many cans are....haha) but its wide and has a considerable amount of depth! i like that. 3) Treble. Sumptuous and addictive. I love how the 595s replicate the shimmer of treble ( try listening to Michael Jackson's "Rock with you" using the 595s , i think you'll get an idea of what i mean ) Its one of those cans that produce treble that is THERE, but is not sibilant....i think...lol...haha 4) Its very clear sounding, crystalline even. Well, i have nothing but praise for the 595s at this moment.... Give me some time and maybe ill actually put my lazy arse down to writing a actual review. but for now....the 595s rock!
  2. heheheh.........after looking at your pics i feel tempted to post a few pics too!!!
  3. Ops....so sorry... I used the MX500 for a year and i kinda got tired of its sound.... Im willing to pay up to $100 or a little more.... Btw, bloated bass is not really my cup of tea, i guess clear mids are more impt to me...
  4. Hi all, Currently im serving my NS liability, and due to the nature of my work ( training spec thingy ) i get to sit in a office. At times, i wish i was able to listen to my music, but due to the nature of my portable earbuds/headphones (E2cs - Cant hear incoming calls and cant hear my boss shout at me ( again ), and PX200s -i'll just look so funny.... ) I was thinking of a good earbud that allows in some sound and offer super sound at the same time... ( i heard audio-technica has some good ones..but rather expensive, no?) Thanks for your time anyway...
  5. hahahaha.....Rips, remember i got one from u beginning of this year? Btw, the little hammond case is damn SOLID. Very , very sturdy The amp is still holding up very well and i use it very often...thanks rips...haha
  6. Hm......not very sure about amps, but should be this A47 thingy.....is it correct rips? lol...
  7. Dont think so dude....but, ill have to listen to it somewhere to conclude...( my dad is using it alot ....lol ) But as of now, it's very clear, not one bit veiled ( the HD600, from my previous listening, seems alittle more veiled IMHO ) Sidenote : the 595s seem to be a nice mix of the qualitlies of my SR125s and DT880...haha....
  8. Hm..update! On my computer, with my creative sound blaster Audigy to maxed out CMOY to my 595s, the 595s sound surprisingly good! There is a nice balance of everything. Want deep, low bass? it's there. Rich mids? check. Addicitive treble? yep...Weird, considering the sh*tty source. However, the HD595s are a different beast on my Zen touch + maxed out CMOY. It sounds very, very shrill and 2-dimensional. Im rather irked by this. Sound improves slightly when im using my Muvo 2. Very strange. My Grados sound like that on the Zen touch too. Overall, the muvo 2 sounds better when paired with larger cans. BUT, ,my E2cs sound better on my Zen touch when A-Bed with my Muvo, I digress. i dont wanna go OTT = ) Shall listen to it on my main setup and update again = ) (ROTEL CD-1072 + Cayin HA-1A + HD595 !!! )
  9. Actually, not really.....my dad bought them ( i have no idea why he did btw ) Shall go test it out first....First impressions are that it beats my Grados SR-125s by quite a margin I really really like the bass that goes very looooooooow yet is so tight. Vocals are very smooth as well...oh well, this is just after 5 mins of listening. Will report back with more findings after burning them in!
  10. Hey guys, my dad is away for a business trip so i decided to use his CDP and interconnects on my Cayin HA-1A and my DT880. My previous setup is in my signature.... My dad's CDP is a ROTEL RCD-1072, and the interconnects are Audiophiles for Audiophiles ( AFA) ARES [has anyone heard of them??] One thing i noticed was that the DT880 paired with the ICs and CDP is deliciously RICH. Too rich sometimes.....haha My Marantz had a sense of Airiness....but the ROTEL and AFA is decidedly vicious man....hahaha...like velvetly chocolate ( Dark Chocolate i might add...haha) There seems to be added weight to my music. This is quite satisfying i would say, as the Marantz seems lite in comparision. Although there is added weight, i guess some airiness is lost in the transistion, and there is a certain heaviness to music ( although not at the expense of timing and pace ) But overall, a considerable improvement over my marantz. The added shimer in treble ( without being overly bright ), the punchy bass ( without being loose ) and the added weight to the music is intriguing to say the least....hahaha. Oh well....enough of my incessant chatter....any opinions gentlemen? ( pls excuse my aimless ramblings if need be LOL )

    Grado SR-125s

Senn? hm... its not bright ( if u r refering to the SR-125s and Cayin...) How should i put it, as in it sounds right (eg hits the right highs and lows , with not a hint of brightness imho ) YMMV though... ( i would love to test the RS-1 on the Cayin...hahaha!)

    Grado SR-125s

Currently still very in love with my Grados. Quite affordable, with impeccable rhythm, pace and musciality.... haha...Decided to put in a few good words for my good ol' SR-125s! Anyone else with them? just wanted to hear other people's opinions on these cans... Really solid pair of phones imho..( sounds like a sales-pitch damnit lol ) Hm. Just ranting anyway....hahaha
  16. After a brief hiatus, im back! Currently listening to alot of heavy stuff....(anyone share the same tastes as me? ) Atreyu - The curse The Dillinger escape plan - Miss Machine Minus - Halldor Laxness ( Crazy Icelandic rock ) Jimmy Eat World - Futures ( not as heavy...Melodic and has brilliant song writing IMHO ) Enough music to make one go dizzy.....haha... Cheers! wil

  20. IMHO, both the "Original" and shanling CDPs are lookers, but it depends whether you would perfer a minialist look or something more extravagent.... No doubt that both CDPs would look great in any setup though lol
