  2. N@Z, Where did you bought the yellow foam? Does it improve the sound, or just to replace the original black foam? Thanks!
  3. Would be nicer if you have the wide angle adapter Did you saturate the green in PS? Looks too saturated to me
  4. S1-IS has nice green out of the camera At 58 (380mm eq) handheld at ISO 100, no PS only resizing:
  5. Tele adapter / Wide angle ? I guess the wide angle one, because 380mm should be good enough for everyday photo I have the Canon wide adapter, but 58mm thread, I ussually use it with G2. Any idea where to get the cheapest lens / filter adapter for S1? (LA-DC52E)
  6. Thanks for all the inputs! I just bought 2nd hand S1-IS, very good deal The result, I'm very pleased with the color, very nice out of the camera. Not as sharp as my G2. But considering the 4Mp vs. 3.2Mp, and the 3x vs. 10x zoom, it already performs very good. Good Enough for 4R to 5R printing. Beside the sharpness, it also show more Chroma noise compare to my G2, but it can be reduced with PS. The video quality is the best among other prosumer digicams. With sufficient light, it shows very good video on TV, almost as good as S$ 1k handycam. In low light it shows noise grain, but I can live with it. The purple fringing also minimum. Below is backlight test to show the purple fringing, very good performance. This is an outdoor camera, so it performs well outdoor, for both still and video. For the price, I'm happy with it.

Nice CMoys Heady Hole puncher is a good idea Who ate all the mints?
  8. Thanks for the information! It is difficult to get AD8066/8065 in Singapore.
  9. Thanks Kiv! So not bad to be used as camcorder right Yesterday I tried it at Cathay photo at Peninsula, I brought my own CF, but after a while the video recording stop by itself after 47 seconds (640x480 30fps). I guess it is because of my CF is regular CF, not the high speed one. The color and sharpness is impressive, but shooting in the shop which relatively low light, I can see some noise and a bit of JPEG artifact. But overall very impressive video clip. Have you upgraded the firmware? Is there any low light focusing improvement after firmware upgrade? Have you ever tried to shoot video at 640x480 fine 30fps, for more than 3 minutes?
  10. Anyone knows where to buy Kimber Cable MonocleX? Thanks!
  11. Nice composition! I would like to ask your opinion about S1-IS (that's your camera right?). I'm thinking to buy the Powershot S1-IS to use it as video camera... what do you think? I read that it has excellent video capability (640x480 30fps) and the IS really works. I hate transfering DV to DVD, takes too much time. I know DV gives better quality, but for family video, I don't need pros quality. And the S1-IS price is about half of normal handycam (my Panasonic handycam spoil ), so I think S1-IS is a good alternative. And I like to get the recorded video as a file, easier to back up to DVD-R or CDR. Other MP4 camcorders are nice, but very expensive, around SGD 1400.- If you don't mind to share, how much you paid for your S1-IS? Thanks! Bram
  12. Nice Macro!!! Just need a lot of croping Any macro adaptor?
  13. Regarding the Grados, if you meant the headband mechanism comfortability, I think there is no problem with it. For comparison, the Senn HD600 / HD650 for me are much more uncomfortable. The Grado press evenly, and the HDs only press pretty hard on one side, so I found it not comfortable. If you meant comfy of the sound, well it is depend on the source the material, no matter what headphone we talked about they are all back to the source and the material. You cannot expect bad recording sounds good don't you But in general, sound wise, for me the one that makes listening not comfortable is metallic treble and boomy bass. Some headphone have those characteristic, so even with good source and material, still not comfortable for long listening.
  14. Whoaa, that's a very good price (both) !!!
  15. Sound wise I don't know the difference, but I'm impressed with the battery performance of my SL-CT810. I bought if for only around SGD 210.- in Jakarta. In Singapore it is around SGd 249.-. The battery last very very long. For my taste, I agree with evil-zen, I also prefer Panasonic over Sony for warmer and thicker midrange (in general for PCDP).
  16. Don't be like that lah... I'm not rich, just like to appreciate what technology has achieved Anyway now you can imagine why I said ATH-EW9 sounds best for it's price range... Me, my bro, and my other 2 friends bought it because it sounds so good for the price They didn't buy it at the same time, but they carefully listened to mine and compare with others before they bought it. If you go with me to Hung Bros, surely you can try them, already good before burn in, not like the PX200. If your 'sweet' same as my definition, then ATH-EW9 sounds sweeter than the Grados. The Grados sound more revealing with better detail, sometime harsh and offensive if they don't paired with good source and amp. The ATH-EW9 is sweeter, detail not as good as Grado, but you can even enjoy it when connected to a notebook headphone output. It makes lousy source sounds better, while the Grado will reveal all the flaw of the lousy source. So consider that.
  17. Well, I always meet him when I go Hung Bros, I think he is one of the owner. You can tell him that you are refered to him by somebody who (me and my friends) has bought 4 pcs of ATH-EW9...
  18. Good shadows rendition makes the foto looks 3D:
  19. Try Noise Ninja for Noise reduction. But the best is still bright sufficient light with ISO 50 / 100. I always use bounce flash when indoor, with custom white balance. I saw D70 suffers from poor Bayer algorithm, weird artifact on high frequency details. So, please read reviews and user comments (the pros) before buy it.
  20. Nice neutral color out of the camera I'm glad digicams improve in color rendering, I spent so much time in PS to correct them with older digicams
  21. Looks like I overlooked the discussion here Sorry guys I didn't check... I'm totally agree with mukegile, our ears are our reference, the buck is not the gauge. Surely I can tell the difference, even my wife can tell the difference But the significant difference is only heard when connected to the line out. The headphone output is middle class, not so good for the price. I dare to bet S$100 for blindfold testing If I have money would I buy it? NO. I don't really like the XA3000 sound paired with my RS-1. The player has excellence detail and imaging, but still has the Sony's signature which is thin midrange and dry treble. I said Sony's sound, because I have/had a few Sony's CDP/PCDP, they all has the Sony's sound I mentioned. Not only mine, but my brother's Sonys as well. Even though the XA3000 sounds more much natural compare to the cheaper Sonys, but still not for my taste. Frankly speaking, for long listening, I still prefer to use my PCDP, Panasonic SL-CT810. True that Sony excels in dynamic (AC powered vs. battery), detail, and imaging. But the treble is sharper than my PCDP, and the SL-CT810 sounds warmer, which is more comfortable for long hour listening. And my friends who bought it also dissapointed with the sound, now he is trying to upgrade the components
  22. Probably next time (if any) you can ask for Douglas before you ask for any headphones Sim Lim's Attitude
  23. Another great amp from Digi, the Amp Expert !!! With precise biasing on the transistor side, with carefully match resistors, and precise regulated supply voltage, would it be possible not to use the output cap? Probably need to modified the Eaton circuit a bit, instead of one LED to bias the transistor into class AB, use 2 LEDs, and the op-amp output connected to the junction between the two LED (must be handmatch for equal voltage drop). Do you use voltage regulator? I can't see them Well done Digi!
  24. Yeap, that is also a good approach, then you can fine tune the Rf value. The small cap on the Rf also will function as a mild low pass as well. What's the progress so far?
