BGW8000 Proline II Power Amp. -- asking $400 (neg) 225WPC into 8 ohms, modded with IEC socket and better speaker binding posts. Comes with volume knobs for left and right channels, so you can connect to CDP directly. It also accepts 2 input channel and is bridgable. This is a very powerful amp able to drive my KEF Reference 103/4, AE2 and AE1 at ease. Sound has lots of drive and is smooth. Amp is still in very good working condition some scratches on top. Hi, I have both the DT880('06) and ATH-A900. The DT880 has a bigger soundstage and is more detailed in vocals and highs. It is also less punchy but deeper in bass. DT880 is also more comfortable to wear for a long time. As for the ATH-A900, since it's closed type, it has better isolation. Thus, bass is also more punchy but not as deep as DT880. Do feel that the vocals and highs are smoother but more laid back than DT880. I'm using the DT880 for home and A900 for portable.

Anything Audio don't have the new DT770 32ohm version.

Maybe you could try the following. I was looking for a pair for a few months as well. Make my decision on Audio Technica AD900 in the end due to my music preference. Below are my personal preference. 1) Senn 280 Pro -- Quite balance sound throughout but bass could do with more punch and highs could be a bit bright sometimes. 2) AKG 271 -- Very musical sounding, but could be too laid back, highs, bass punch and extension is limited. 3) Beyer DT770 -- Very punchy bass, maybe too much at times and need amp to drive. Very bright and detailed sounding. Good for rock and metal music. most comfy of the lot here due to its velo pads. 4) Beyer DT150 -- A more neutral version of DT770, with lesser bass punch but more extension. Not as bright as well. In fact very musical sounding, but too ugly. Hard to drive as well. 5) Audio Technica AD990 -- A more bass punch and extension version of AKG271. Though not laid back to me, but may sound too slow for some. Very good for classical and vocals and pops. It almost sound like the Senn 595 but closed version. You could try the Beyer phones at Anything Audio at Parklane. As for the rest, try them at Hung Bros at Sim Lim or Stereo at Causeway Pt. Hope the above helps a bit. At the end of the day, you must audition yourself.

Have a renowed Philips CD950 for sale. This is the Europe-made model not the Singapore-made model. It comes with a steel plate below the player. Very smooth, refine and netural sounding player. Not sure of the age but mechanism and lens is changed 6 months ago. So playing condition as good as 6 months old. Moreover it's build with the durable cdm 9 swing-arm mechanism which is much better sounding than the current player. Player is also modded to accept IEC powercords. This is a definite better sounding player than the Marantz CD6000 or 63SE series player. Looking for around $180. Interested parties, please call or sms 98781687.
