  1. I guess the hype is wearing out cos Shures came out with a universal triple driver IEM first. But UE did well to raise the hype again by having a naming competition and limited edition of their universals.. Seems like you're rather keen on the triple.fi..
  2. iPod is using the creative type of user interface right? Sorts file by Artist, Album, or Genre? In fact I like this kind of UI.. but the songs must be tagged properly. If you don't like iTunes I think there's some plugins which you can use to transfer file with Winamp also?
  3. That's great.. the batt life on my H120 sux. But I'm so used to using rockbox firmware right now. Most prob will wait for a stable rockbox before getting it. Thanks anyway!
  4. Can you tell me the average battery life? Of cos not now but after a few cycles.. I'm also considering getting this. Thanks.
  5. Not sure if this has been posted before. UE's range of low end earphones. Looks like they really wanna dominate the whole earphones market. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/revi...fi-2-earphones/ A picture of a rig. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showpost.ph...705&postcount=2 Also earphonesolutions is having a trade in program right now.. another good excuse for folks who wish to get the triple.fi!
  6. You can easily earn some bucks if you can get them at the Amazon price..
  7. Yeah he traded his 2nd UE10 Pro for something else. No point having 2 UE10 Pro.. Most prob the limited edition is just another marketing gimmick.. I'm wondering how come his triple.fi comes with the metallic storage box?
  8. Nope.. I don't like the design. Should be going customs next.. Didn't get the cable in the end. I can't keep in in the case using the custom cable cos it'll be too stiff to coil it up. BTW you received your E500 already?
  9. Precisely. Even if anyone brings them in, he gotta sell them at a lower profit margin, definitely not the $300+ range. It was still in stock the last time I checked the price. No budget for new IEMs right now anyway, so doesn't matter to me.
  10. If local sellers price them at $300, anyone in the right frame of mind will rather get them off Amazon for ard $150 even if there's no local warranty, since you can easily buy 2 with $300. So basically targeted segment will only be those who cant make online purchases or those who have no knowledge of IEMs. Buying online have always been cheaper than buying locally. The only downside is no local warranty. But then again, SE and Jaben have always priced their IEMs to be below the MSRP direct conversion price, which is good news for us. If anyone really sells the IM716 at $300, definitely they'll price themselves out of the market. With a $300 budget, I can consider many other better IEMs too.
  11. More pictures in the following thread.. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=200675 And also check out the thread which the guy won a UE5c from winning the naming competition.. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=200498
  12. It will cost over $300 if you follow the MSRP on Altec Lansing website. But do you really think they are sold at that price?

    Shure E500

Did he mention he don't like it?
  14. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2019008,00.asp Read about it from Head-Fi. Looks good.. but still the protruding design.
  15. UE have their own clear version of the Super.Fi series too.. wonder what's the purpose of rebranding it?

    Shure E4C

Your friend carrot head? I think he overpaid a lot for it..
  17. Isn't it gonna be costly if he buys everything to try? Unless someone brings down everything he needs to SE or Jaben for him to audition.. ie. different players, different amps.
  18. Definitely it'll drop.. but I doubt it'll drop drastically. Apple buys their flash memory in bulk from Samsung at a discounted price, reducing the cost price. Other competitors are finding it hard to match Apple prices.. Most prob only Sandisk can do the same.. since they produce flash mem themselves. Other brands are still pumping out 2GB flash players even now..
  19. The new Nano really looks good... http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/gallery/ The aluminium body looks really sleek and nice. Similar to iPod mini in some ways, but it's so much smaller and 8GB of flash memory!
