  1. I'm guessing the cable is teflon+kevlar coated? But I have to admit, the new metallic paintjob looks really slick. Now only if they made somewhat more upmarket Universal IEMs.(e500 competitor?)
  2. You say that we should exclude the iPod, but why? As Stevie J said, it is still one hell of an mp3 player. Sound Quality - Probably not the best but very high up Battery Life - Twenty hours is more than enough. Screen Quality - New, very beautiful high-density 2.5" screen Build Quality - Very well built, one piece body, much more durable than the forth generation iPod Memory Type - Up to 60GB but still thinner than a deck of cards. Asthetics - What can I say. Features - Almost everything possible, PIM apps, clocks, stopwatches, games, and of course video playback as a bonus. And if you like, you can install rockbox or ipod linux to support the other formats. Sure, it may not be a very good video player but as a music player, it is still one of the best products.
  3. I'm almost certain the players are very equalized to produce a sound that is very warm and pleasant. I'm guessing this has something to do with maximizing sales.
  4. Hi Everyone, I'm coming back home to SG for a visit and to earn a bit of cash, I'm selling Shure/Ety sleeves. Compared to SG, the prices of sleeves here in China are quite abit cheaper. Also, the sellers don't have a nasty habit of never having them in stock or not sure when they get stock. If you're interested, send me a PM or an email at chong.kenneth(at)mac.com Prices will be roughly S$25 for five pairs of any sleeves (with the exception of tri-flange which is only one pair). I may sell individually but the price might be higher. Sleeves available (All Sizes): Shure Soft Flex Shure Flex(Clear) Shure Foam Shure Tri-Flange Ety Double Flange Ety Foam Ety Tri-Flange Deadline will be the 7th of July.
  5. I use my E5 with my 30G iPod Video, and I crank the volume to 50% (I mp3gained my mp3 to 91db though). Am I abnormal?? Are you using the tri-flange or one of the other sleeves? I use 10-20% for the tri-flange and around 50% for the soft flex(medium). But then again, my hearing is quite sensitive as I sleep in a very quiet enviroment. I using the soft flex (medium, grey) sleeves. Tri/Bi-flange dont work for me. It goes in way too deep. Feels like my ears kena rape... Heh, I used to feel like that but now when i put it in, I can hardly feel a thing. Did you cut the stalk of the tri-flange to make it shorter? Its gotten to a point where i can fall asleep wearing the E5 and playing music. The sound quality from the e5 is even better with tri-flange than the soft flex, the sound is generally deeper and punchier. Anyways, I think i'm gonna take the next step and go for molded sleeves. Should be even better

  7. Im using the Shure E5 with a 60gb iPod video, i tend to always set the EQ to accoustic and volume usually at 10-20%. But sometimes if it's really quiet(or if i use tri-flange), i feel that even at the absolute minimum(1-pixel line), its still too loud so i use the shure in-line volume control.
  8. I use my Shure e5 with my iPod on the go but at home i tend to rely on my speakers. I own a pair of LX-series floorstanding JBL's and two Control bookshelf speakers fed by a Harmon/Kardon receiver as well as a massive PSB Subsonic subwoofer. The e5c is great but truly cannot compete with the sheer impact of my speaker setup. Plus, I can't really bring a record player around
  9. $200? That's pretty far into e2c/er-6 territory. I thought these japanese in-ear things were all supposed to be under $100.
  10. Neck-chain design? What? The er-6 and the 6i have the same cable system. As for where you can buy it, i think hung bros. has it. I just bought the tips for it today.(Tips are different from 6i)
  11. Looking to buy any of the above. Preferbly in good condition. PM me if interested. Also, looking for some help to order these from the web.
  12. Anyone wiling to help? I'd be more than willing to throw in extra S$50 S&H fee over what it costs + shipping.
  13. I can't really get them online as I don't have a credit card but what I do have is a wad of cash.
  14. I'm looking for a pair of E4Cs or the superfi, preferbly new. Also, does anyone know where to buy shures/etys(or just ridiculously expensive cans) in singapore?
