  3. hmm, also asked just now was the question of how much the d2000 costs. if any1 were to make a trip down to audition those, please reveal how much they cost
  4. Do the A900s perform well for this genre of music?
  5. Hi all, I need some recommendations on a headphone(closed) for use at home on my computer lol. Budget is below $250. I am looking for a change from Grados, as I have a pair of SR80s now and I'm looking for something 1 up from that. Something good for rock/metal. I'm kinda noob and yeah, thanks in advance.
  6. Hi, I too have the same problem as posted by threadstarter. There's no sound heard on the right ear cup on my sr80s. Got the set from MBD and it's under warranty period. So would they still charge me $ if they'd replace the cable? Thanks
  7. Hi all, I've a set of sr80s and the right cup seems to have distortion during music-playing. Before this 'distortion' occurrence, on several occasions I wasn't even hearing any sound on the same right cup. The sound only came back when I had to gently slap the outside of the cup(or whatever you call it). Any advice greatly appreciated. Sorry I'm a newbie.
  8. During the time when I got my SR60, MBD did not have stock for the SR80. Actually wanted to do a comparison and perhaps get the SR80, with the intention of getting an amp in the future. But unfortunately, they did not have stock of the SR80, and I thus ended up with the SR60 instead. But I do love my Grado! Understand that the SR80 would do better with an amped source. Is that correct? duno why but i am not thoroughly impressed with the SR60 that i recently bought. *shrug* Bass not deep, boomy enough. On other head/earphones, the bass can be even FELT if u just put a finger on the cans/phones...but not for the SR60. As for clarity, most of the relatively expensive cans out there wont be that bad either I bet. Just not impressed because the music that the SR60 produces, doesn't have a character of its own. Vocals not distinct enough, ditto for the instrumentals. p.s : the above comments are only my own. not meant to degrade the name of Grado in any way.
  9. electric noise? u mean static noise? I'm using the Creative Audigy soundcard..fitted into 1 of the PCI slots if i'm not wrong..so its not considered as on-board soundcard right? anyway...i dont have the static noises...
  10. got the sr60 ...for clarity no doubt it rocks and its able to pick up loose sounds in the background. but when it comes to bass, i dont find anything quite fantastic about it. not boomy. think i'm prolly gonna get flamed for saying that.. anyway, in the process of burning-in ...hope to see better performance after the burn-in. out.
  11. but for normal PC usage, the amp is not necessary right? as in, the computer is powerful enough to drive the grados to a loud enough volume right? but as i understand, the amp does itself have some uses on its own...e.g making the sound output clearer? correct me where i'm wrong..
  12. err..sorry ah..got a noob question can the grado sr60 can be plugged into computer soundcard(creative live) the output port behind???
