  1. Plugs can be cleaned with an eraser (yes, a rubber) and alcohol. RCA plugs, I just connect, remove and re-connect a few times. I don't think there is a need for expensive solutions, unless you want to splurge. Ooh eraser lol! But alcohol, what kind? Can't be using tiger beer and clean it right?
  2. Hi guys, First thing I would like to ask is, is there anyplace that sells HD580 replacement pads, or is there any other brands pads that will fit HD580? Secondly, would like to buy those stuffs that will clean or protect the interconnects or headphones jack from oxidising. I look through the FAQ, only saw progold stuffs and the phillips degreaser. The progold price is abit steep, is there any other brands for it? Or what place that sells phillips degreaser? The phillips counterpart is cheaper and more affordable for me, even though the sacrifice the quality grade. Thanks!
  3. Sex Machineguns - S.H.R. ~Sexy Hero Revolution~ (Album Version)
  4. I'm willing to split the money, and furthermore there's 20 people in MO. Each person only $2.50 more.
  5. Haxyer, if you're free on any weekdays evening-night time, I don't mind going to your house or Tampines area to collect from you. Cause I inhouse attachment from 8.30am-5.30pm. I'm not desperate for it though, haha. And thanks for your great help in organising and collecting the stuffs.
  6. All things being equal, that's usually the case. That's why I advise against it unless you are going to use it as a dvd player as well. P.S. word of caution on the ts lim modded players, they do sound good but bear in mind you are buying a very old cd player(probably with multiple owners in its history and) with a lot of wear and tear already. The modded cd67(which I used to own) sounds slightly better than the modded cd63. The difference is more noticable when playing the fast and heavy stuff like rock/metal. For the same money, you might want to consider a brand new Nad, Rotel, or Arcam player. Or a Marantz as well. Besides the Oppo, you might want to try out the Usher cd player at X-Audio too. It's pretty decent. Bear in mind that long term reliability and parts availability are just as important, if not more, than sound quality. Yea Mackie also warned me on the parts availability. But if I get the marantz cd63 should be ok, since its a popular cdp, the replacement for parts are available most of the time from what I heard. How much does an used modded cd67 cost?
  7. hmm... Ok. Actually i'm not really keen in it, but people recommend it, doesn't hurt to go try though. Know and hear more stuffs first. But I always thought (which may not be true, since i'm a beginner only) a specialise cdp will sure win a universal player if around the same price range.
  8. hmm... Maybe i'm still a beginner and never tried much other brands yet. Till now only Denon and Marantz, that's why. Or maybe the Marantz I heard is already T.S.Lim mod. I heard Nad is good for rock/metal? I will try the cd6000ose if there's one for audition, as long it is under my budget. Thanks!
  9. hmm... Quite a number of recommendations already. If you can increase you budget by a bit, you can get an used Grado SR-60. My first cans are SR-80 though, and I still love it till now.
  10. Thanks for all those who give recommendations. Maybe I never say clearly, my bad. I will try to get only used stuffs, unless otherwise like maybe the oppo player or sort that is new and affordable. The players that I will buy if no other choices or shortlisted currently is: 1) Marantz cd63 se/ki t.s.lim mod. The players I will go try it out, recommends from you guys are: 1) Oppo player. Cause I heard haxyer's cd63 se tslim mod, for jazz/bossa nova I like it, it make the music livier, dynamic. For rock/metal also, but I feel the vocal is abit soft/drown out, i'm not sure whether its that cd recording or not. But the instruments are great and quite detailed, at least to me. Since I only tried one rock/metal cd using that cdp at haxyer's house. So if you guys got more recommendations for me in the budget range of $350-450? New or used also can, but I definitely aiming for used item which is a better deal. Thanks again all!
  11. I think I raised my budget up, since some users also said, rather to take the pain now, then keep on upgrading later. And personally I shortlisted marantz cd63 se/ki with ts lim mod. But I dunno what other cdp are in my budget range that is good too, so need more recommendations. My budget range is $350-450. Thanks!
  12. When I last checked, that's been sold already. thats was fast,.. Yea... Just saw the thread, sold.
  13. Yeah! Same thread. I email him already, but the set the user is selling, the lens need to be replaced. So I asking him how much will it cost to replace. Or what you say TS will provide support service, does that include in changing lens? If its free or a small fee like maybe not more than $50, I will surely buy that player of the seller at echoloft. But no reply from him yet though. Hi, Alternatively, u could get a used Marantz CD17. Used one around $400++ izzit? But haven heard how its like yet. Will check around too. Thanks for the recommend!
  14. I think i'm pretty much set on marantz cd63 se or ki. After listening haxyer's cd63se tslim mod, I think its great. Will save another month to buy one with the mod. Maybe next month I will go post for a wtb marantz cd63 se/ki with or without mod.
  15. Asking a few more models again. Is this 2 models good? NAD 510 Harman Kardon HD710 Thanks!
  16. So now how many sets total already? I'm interested to join in the MO too. Hope to get the $280 price.
  17. I think I will confirm when I go haxyer's house to test this few days. Also to test his cdp too.
  18. Ok, thanks! Just found their service center contact at their Singapore branch website. Think will just call them to ask the laser pickup availablilty if i'm on to get the denon cdp.
  19. Oh thanks. Does Denon have their parts readily available? Since Denon is quite a popular brand is it?
