    Tubes amp

this is the one that I am thinking too LOL

    Tubes amp

0.1uF is the high pass filter coz it's going to op-amp from the B+ of the tube haha gotta look for wat it means by the DC coupled of szekeres. is it the one that the gate is biased at certain voltage? I am thinking along that line

    Tubes amp

yea but have to work on the DC offset too else quite no point rite? solve 1 prob (too low of output current) and introduce another (DC offset, which solved with using output cap)

haha same, I've become koba regular too. and always come late one might have met you kippei btw, go ahead with the PCB, but for sizes of components, kube you have to keep track what's the most easily available in singapore. but, if only you guys wanna wait. I'm trying something now wanna change the power stage (op-amp stage) to something else that can output more current

you need 6VA anyway but 0.3A means 9VA. smaller size but if it's using thicker wires, then might be possible not so sure tho' I've never made or studied how to design a trafo bridge? u can make a bridge using 4 diodes btw or u wanna get from me? or u can always get from koba depends which place is nearer for u

mm yea, i use those IEC socket can get either in SLT (not SLS la) or koba live, use wire soldered on it, then solder on the trafo primary (one of it) then neutral, go to switch, then fuse then trafo 11k that hard to get? not necessarily to be 11k u can change those values, as long as you can get 12.6v for the heater part and yea, 2 wires connected to 2 pins of the 9pins of the tube out of 9pins of the tube, 1 is not used 2 for heater 3 pins for each channel (anode, input grid, cathode) siriuz: how much did u pay for the trafo? and wat rating? either the current output or the wattage

da blok is to block DC from going into ur trafo and hence ur trafo will run cooler to start, dun put such things first that one put in later after everything works out and becareful when playing with live of the mains k?
  8. oh all right then hd497 is available for trying at CK Tang, top floor then SR60 is at MBD (music by design) at the adelphi, city hall there then purchase can be made from www.ttvj.com a lot cheaper buying them online
  9. hd497 and SR60 is totally a bad choice for travel use (bus, sMRT watever u name it) I've tried before and you're practically hearing every single junk from outside. IEMs are best for use during travel. at home, wear headphones. best SQ for its money

no, dont put the LED onto the amp part tap from the heater side hmm, ppl always avoid tapping LED current off the amp side especially those small 7xL12 can only supply 100mA so better not load those small regulators I didnt put any LED onto mine as you would know that it's on due to the glow from the tube. unless you wanna light up ur tube using blue LED. the 470uF at 35v is OK. I've got none of them blowing up and no, it's not seeing 30v * 1.414. it's 15volt AC there coz u take the + side and the - side. not both going thru the regulator together. that's why dual supply. one 15v, another is -15v dont oversize things it's going to cost you maybe if u want, change the 100uF 100v, one of them to 470uF/100v. one of the cap is to filter AC to make it DC. the one that supply 60v at the end of it. but to warn u first, those rated at 100v, can really go real big in size

perfboard to be exact soldering was done p-t-p rather simple as it doesnt involve that many components, and mostly are big components. none is like those 24pins IC or something for layout, you can always refer to what I've done. I posted the pic somewhere but dun follow my 1st unit, follow my 2nd unit. a lot neater and took out some unnecessary parts kross: we can always meet up and let u try my SOHA u know siriuz: yeah read that last night. didnt realise there were stickies ! haha btw adhoc is a senior member here also I think,if they belong to the same person anyway btw, remember, put the on/off switch and trafo far away k? anything else, just feel free to ask me here or pm you ADD: here's the price quotes of tubes from Frankie of http://www.wellaudiolab.com/ 12AU7/CV4003 Mullard $50.00 each NOS box plate. 12AU7 clear top RCA NOS $55.00 each 12AU7/ ECC802s Tesla NOS 70’s $35.00 each 12AU7/5814 GE NOS $18.00 each 12AU7 EH $10.00 each 12AU7 EH Gold $16.00 each

hmm for layout, chk a few pages earlier see my layout there ideal to be seperated then from PSU, run 4 wires, 60v, +12v, -12v. 0v oh btw, if u want, the +/-12v regulators can be replaced with LM317 and LM337. but have to put 1 resistor and 1 trimpot for each. however, with that, you can adjust the supply to ur op-amp easily more flexibility btw, when building SOHA, use the CCS config to be the mu follower. then u dun have headache with those higher input bias current op-amps can even use the cheaper NE5532 no sound difference. and it's able to output same amount of current as its more expensive OPA2134/OPA2132. I myself planning to build higher power output stage

yah J113 is good a little better than the LND150 but can get, 50c each at koba but... they're more fragile compared to LND150 J113 can only take 35v across them. so have to be more careful when u set the cathode resistance down there. dont let it go to 0, then the voltage across the CCS will be too large. oh, using LND150 only needs 2 more resistors. using J113, needs two of them and 1 resistor for millet, well audio not selling 6922? http://www.wellaudiolab.com/preamp.html see there. I see there's 6922 there wat

    Tubes amp

man that's a lot hahahaha should we bid too? but yea, none of them is of GE brand.
  15. squalle

    Tubes amp

hmm I know wat NOS stands for, but what I dont get is why ppl want those tubes made in 50s or 60s the tubes we've just bid are like made in 1955 but new, as in unused la. I know abt the life thing. but still those tubes are still cheaper than OPA627 aint they? and opamps do have their life limit too
  16. squalle

    Tubes amp

the quad? I guess so but nevertheless, they're all spot the same model number can any1 enlighten why NOS tubes are more sought after? sounds nicer? or just being nostalgic? haha
  17. squalle

    Tubes amp

yea took some time coz need to verify my cc haha but there's still 2more days for the auction to end but there's still another deal for 4 tubes, matched, that I've seen on ebay
  18. squalle

    Tubes amp

not the same and it's not 5693, it's 5963 LOL
  19. squalle

    Tubes amp

concurrent? how? dun really get u.. confirmed bid already...
  20. squalle

    Tubes amp

ok I'll go ahead then so siriuz when wanna start hybrid tube? and which design?
  21. squalle

    Tubes amp

I'm taking GE too so is there any other item guys?
  22. squalle

    Tubes amp

i've got paypal dont worry. Mine's fully operational so shall I confirm the bid then? siriuz how? eh, then he mentions there that we can buy other things from him too as to save shipping u guys chk if there's anything else u guys want
  23. squalle

    Tubes amp

ermm I've just created and just placed the bid The thing is, even with shipping, it's still cheaper compared to sg pricing it comes down to 11.67 sgd per tube, after shipping with assumed currency rate of USD 1= SGD 1.7 so, how kippei? anyway, I've placed the bid la
  24. squalle

    Tubes amp

wow siriuz playing with tube amp too? so shall we get them then? who's got ebay acc? I dont coz so far havent got any needs yet
