  1. I concur with av98m, I also go to Paris Miki whenever I can. Although I haven't made any frameless ones from them I do own 3 pairs of frameless spectacles at the moment. None of them has ever broke or had any major scratches on them. Considering that I even sometimes lie down on while wearing them. Besides the relative fragility (depending on the individual) the other thing to look out for is the part of the frame that holds on to the glass/plastic. Some designs are better than others at securing the frame on to the glass/plastic. One of my frameless spectacles is a cheapo unbranded one intentionally bought for home use. It was false economy, it tended to loosen itself over time which was annoying to tighten every so often. I ended up just giving up (put it in the car for backup/emergency pair) & getting a Levis brand (around $100) which had a screwless attachment & that has been going strong for almost a year now. Extremely light & flexible too.

  2. That sounds brilliant especially night time. Any chance of posting a shot of your 'view'? Would love to see it. It reminds me of my (Speaker listening) environment while still studying in Glasgow. My unit was on the top floor of a flat midway on top of a hill. The view I had was facing the, motorway, Scottish COnvention Center & disused shipyard of the River Clyde in the distance. I couldn't see the river physically but at night the lights in the distance outlining the terran is captivating & I always stand/sit infront of the window while being 'transported' by the music of Deacon Blue, Hue & Cry & The Blue Nile. Bands from Glasgow which epitomise the weather & City strongly.

My listening environment nowadays is not as impressive. It involves just complete blackness as I usually listen in bed with my eyes closed before going to sleep. However the beauty is your mind can actually conjure up fascinating images based on the type of music you hear.

  3. Thanks. You oversatruated the colour too much compared to the actual flower is very pale like the original image posted. The image was only cropped, resized & added a little USM. Just to give you an idea, below is another one with a different colour, taken at the same time, same PS treatment.

Both images were taken using the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8.

  4. One thing to remember which ablaze has quite rightly pointed out is the ability for someone to spend alot of time on the site. It's not just setting it up, it requires running and maintaining it fairly regularly. We have been quite lucky so far.

What Q00 meant I believe is that the forum is running ok on average, unless there is a major problem or a major overhaul is required to address as specific inadequacy then change for the sake of change seems unecessary at this point in time.

    Ahem! I'm still on PIII & WIN2K!

  5. I'll have one each of these 'Nikon accessories' please.

Sorry no closeups Blues, took some shots just to record the event only, they all looked the same to me! Hehehe lazy photographer. That shot was taken around after 9am. The bright sun was covered by an isolated cloud to the right hence I got a decent capture.

I took this shot below while participating in the convoy. Very blueish green hue because of the tinted windows & mirror.
