  3. I think it would be perfect for a fun earphone. I would say it is pretty much on par with the um1S.
  4. Don't know if anyone here can help you as this is a Singapore-based forum.
  5. The Magik Markers - A Panegyric To The Things I Do Not Understand
  6. Hmmmm, think they might be horn speakers. Not sure if I am correct. Have toask Uncle Wilson.
  7. Six Organs Of Admittance - School Of Flowers
  8. Yah, i think the DT-770 is more suited for you if you are looking for more ooomph basswise. Maybe you should be looking at closed-cans instead of open ones.
  9. wah...what kinda music is this? sounds like something I should listen to... Hmmm, in their earlier albums, they were doing industrial music in the literal sense of the word, ie hammering against metal with sledehammers, they even had a track which was sampled with the field recording of nails scratching on blackboards. Once during their concerts, they had a Boeing 747 jet engine onstage as part of their set-up.
  10. It sounds good, only thing is the UEs are a bit uncomfortable. If earmolds could be made for them, they would be perfect. But then, I'd also wait for the UE's yet unnamed triple driver IEMs which would be coming out soon to make a decision.
  11. Architecture In Helsinki is pretty cool too.

  15. There's a nice debate about this topic going on in the headfi forums: http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=191708 Predictably, there are 2 camps I use EQ when I have to, to compensate for the idiosyncracies in my playback equipment, and also to the listening environment. For those who use the "original as the studio mastered music" argument, how in the world would you know what "original" sounds like if you're not present during the recording session? After all, you're not playing back the music on the original equipment used for the mixing. And for folks who play music off MP3 players through headphones.....the music is no longer "original" due to compression (assuming lossy mp3). And I read almost all studio mixing is done through HQ studio monitors, not headphones. And we all know headphones's sonic signature vary all over the spectrum Haha, well said. Another point is recording techniques are not exactly what they use to be. If anyone has measured the volume levels of the latest Coldplay album, you will realise what a joke it has become. All levels are turned up to full.
  16. Normal gain is the default gain for the amp. Low gain is for ppl who are using sensitive iems as they seem to pick up a fair amount of noise.
  17. Actually I think he has the subwoofer, just that he has not added that to the setup
  18. You can always bring your source and go down to Jaben to test it out. Well. . . i got to know the product from uncle wilson himself. . . I find it alright, pretty decent but like the fact that it can drive speakers. In fact Uncle Wilson, showed me how this smaller little fellow actually drive his apri of tannoy, subsequently using the Xiangsheng as preamp... That very moment i thought this could be tube amp dream come true as its did produce what i would call a lushy tuby sort of music. . . Due to space constraint and the recent purchase of my Xiangsheng and MS2, i would like to hear more feedback from the owners of this amp before i decide to close my eyes, ignore my gf reluctance and my pocket constraint AND LET MY IMPULSE TAKE OVER.... hope my gf is not reading this. . . Just tell her it cost $10. I can't cos she was there when Uncle Wilson showed me that. . . Besides if i get the amp i will need to get a pair of speakers, which can't possibly cost too little as she know how much the MS2 cost.. You know, there are some places you shouldn't bring your girlfriend Actually if you don't mind used speakers, Uncle Wilson can be persuaded to part with them at a reasonable price.
