  1. CK7 is also within your budget. My friend bought a pair shortly after I sold my UM1 about 2 years ago and they're still working fine. You should go have all the 3 of them at Stereo Electronics. You're bound to walk away with either one.
  2. I've previously owned the Westone UM1 and now the Etymotics ER6i and ER4P-S. Both the UM1 and ER6i are really good entry IEMs. I prefer the ER6i for clarity and pronounced highs but have upgraded to ER4S since. Both should fall within your budget and are easily available at Stereo Electronics.
  3. Hi, I'm currently using an iPhone with my pair of ER4S. Are any better solutions to this? I'm actually looking for something that can power the ER4S without any additional Amps. Anyone?
  4. Hi heady, Thanks again for sharing your experience. I'm quite paranoid and have no idea what is going to happen to my earphones, but I shall just leave that to the expertise of the fellows at LHS. I'll let you know when I've gotten the wires done up. Cheers.
  5. Hi heady, Thank you very much. Do you know if the type of solder used on the wire will have any effect on the sounding of the earphones? How about the plugs? I was thinking about switching to a straight plug.
  6. Hi, Maybe you could name a shop or place where a professional can do it for me at a good price with the right equipment?
  7. Hi blackmouth, I've tried using that but it adds on too much cable clutter. The weight of the MPA Mic plus the excessive cables and transducer is too much to bear for the ER4P's cable clip. Any input guys?
  8. Hi, I have a pair of ER4P which I use with the Shure MPA Music Phone Adapter to my iPhone. I was thinking of shortening the cable wires of my ER4P to better suit the setup. Is it worth the while shortening the wires? If so where can I do it locally? Thanks.
  9. Thanks Flash, will try but the last i heard from them was they don't carry either... anyone knows of anywhere that i will definitely get my hands on these?
  10. As of the topic, i need my filters and foam tips of my ER6is to be replaced. Where can i get them?
  11. have yet to put it on with my ER6is... will like to compare when it gets back with my nano:)
  12. besides the noticeable hiss, do both have the same sound quality? I'm sure the shuffle sounds better than my 1G Nano which is now on T-Loan to a friend.
  13. as of the Topic Title. Any input very much appreciated
  14. Yes as mentioned, my ears have no problems with the ER6i's fit. I can wear it on without experiencing discomfort.
  15. I sold my UM1s for a pair of ER6i. I like it better. The UM1 has something about its treble which bugs me.
  16. http://sg.creative.com/products/popup2.asp...&nav=threeSixty Anybody used this with their laptops? any comments?
  17. how much did you get them for and from where? Interested...
  18. Did anyone try the AD-41 audio adapter? How was the sound?
  19. I bet SE have not stated any pricing for these yet am i right?
  20. It is weak. It looks even weaker. But i still use it everyday. (I know i may sound rude but i guess you know the answer yourself. You buy it, you take extra care of it. It IS weak. if your girl is weak, you take good care of her, vice versa.) Scenario : I bought the UM1 cause it was sturdier, cheaper and comes with better accessories even though the ER6i sounded better to my ears. Q:What went wrong? A:I forgot altogether the intention was to get a pair of good sounding earphones for my enjoyment. Instead, factors like built, price and accessories steered me away from the main deciding factor of my purchase. Conclusion? If you'd ask me, I'd rather have the privilege to enjoy the ER6i that breaks in a year's time than the UM1 that lasts (say 5 years) and try to live by each day trying to tell myself 'yes it doesnt sound right but let's bear with it till it breaks down'. * please note that i'm not being biased towards the UM1, i'm only writing through personal experience and taste. And yes to be frank most ACCIDENT tugs, etc , spoils your stuff (be it earphones or cellphones, etc). ACCIDENTAL tugs that doesn't rip or damage anything probably won't even deserve enough attention to be deemed ACCIDENTAL at all. Say you dropped your phone and it's still intact. It's an accident but you wouldn't talk about it. But when you drop a phone that splits into 2, it'll haunt you for weeks even though both scenarios were accidents. So how ACCIDENTAL is ACCIDENT enough?
