  1. Bro did you get the MDR-NC22 here in S'pore? What's the pricing like? Apologies for the OT. BTW, I am using the MDR-EX90 and I think they have the same buds. Try using Senheiser buds.
  2. I brought my Vietnamese friend to Jaben to get a pair of IEMs. So lucky to be at the right place at the right time.. I HEARD THE KING! (my wife heard it too! )
  3. The EX90 bass is different from other Sony IEMs like the 71s. After running-in for about 40Hrs. The bass is not too strong and muffled. It actually tightened up. Off the rack the EX90 highs were very strong and jarring...but again after running-in, it mellowed down and complemented with the bass very well. I now have this EX90 and the UM1 and I feel the UM1 is still tad better than the EX90. But u have to know that the EX90 is sorta a semi-IEM. It doesn't close out as much ambient sound as the UM1 does.
  4. After about 30Hrs of burning-in..... the soundstage opened up and the bass got tighter. Basically, the whole thing sounds totally different now...
  5. Ok decided to not sell. After about 30Hrs of burning-in..... the soundstage opened up and the bass got tighter. Basically, the whole IEMs sounds totally different now...
  6. I just got my hands on the Sony MDR-EX90SL Listened to it for a short while and felt that the soundstage was not as i hoped for for a 13.5mm driver. Now running-in them in to see if the sound will improve. Might Anybody be interested in it? Considering sales.
  7. Just got my EX90SL today. Colleague helped me get it from Tokyo @ Yodobashi. Cost 9980Yen which is approx $137. First take (in comparing with my UM!) is that its harder to drive. THe soundstage is kinda disappointing (considering the big hoohaa about its 13.5mm drivers)! But the highs are sharp and clear. Bass is kinda muffled but not overpowering. Not too sure if it needs any running in... Anyone can advise how to distinguish if it might require running-in? I was told by SE that my UM1 does not need any running-in. How does one distinguish? I don't think the manufacturer actually indicates this info right?
  8. My colleague going to Japan in a month's time....very tempted to ask him get it for me from Yodobashi...
  9. Congrats! I'm also using the UM1... Luckily you didn't try the UM2.... I did and had to pull myself away from the UM2!!!
  10. BTW..I was told that the UM1 does not require burning-in...true?
  11. Hi All New here. Anyways..just picked up my UM1 and its great.... i fell into the temptation of testing out the UM2 and it really blew my mind out! But the price is way above my budget.... Nevertheless.. i was contemplating between UM1 and ER6i originally but I wasn't comfortable with ER6i construction and lack of base. Oh yar.. the ER6i was damn uncomfortable in the ear!
