  1. ok, I don't know if it will be helpful, but I was very impressed with CablePro V.2 Reverie Eichmann bullett. the fact that it doesn't add any extra sound color to it but, the cable adds transparency, clarity, soundstage, separation, and air. TaraLabs The One, adds warmth and bottom end. I also have other RCA's that actually add brightness and soundstage. What are you looking for?
  2. I noticed you own L3000. Could you please compare L3000, with UE9 if you decide to buy UE9. Thanks
  3. Sir I recommend you to have a listen to it since you already have GS1000. I heard UE9 + RPX-33 pair supposed to be deadly. I don't own RPX-33 amp. It's best for everyone to actually listen to this combination yourself before giving not worth it kinda comment. I tried to make the picture smaller but failed to do so. I'm not good with html so I don't know the proper coding to automatically resize. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showpost.php...020&postcount=6
  4. I have been using Ultrasone Edition 9 since July 2007, experimented with different combinations possible. I believe I have passed that Hype New Toy Syndrome. So my comments will be more genuine, fair, and square. Basically I find that Ultrasone Edition 9 is indeed an AMAZING CAN. It is the best ALL ROUNDER headphone that I have ever heard in my life. Please remember, ALL ROUNDER means the headphone must sound good with pretty much any music genre you throw in unlike some headphones only good for a particular music genre. The problem with Ultrason Edition 9 is this: with a non matching system it will sound very thin on the top, shrill, with recessed midrange, bloated bass, 2 dimensonal, without surround feeling nor depth. As a result, UE9 sound stuffy and boring. Yes I HAVE HEARD THIS BAD SIDE OF UE9 MYSELF. UE9 really needs an amp that excels very well with depth as that really helps filling up the whole ambiance detail such as the air and the warmth. Once your system is matching superbly then, it would be very hard to go back to a regular headphone for this reason: The sound of Ultrasone is SO FULL, SO RICH, ROOM RICH, as if you are listening to a pair of speakers in the room accompanied with a high quality of Sub. UE-9 is superbly detailed and able to throw an ambience information at 360degrees angle. This feeling is really becoming very ADDICTING. I have to say it’s very hard to go back to regular headphone after being spoiled with Ultrasone Edition 9. I have to thank few people like Ultrasone Camp for implementing S-Logic system, Steve from Empirical Audio for a wonderful freeway 2 making my m902 sound very musical instead of digital or clinical. Also thanks Grace for making a wonderfully revealing and transparent amp like M902, better yet, WITH CROSSFEED/XFEED. The minute you turned on the CROSSFEED in Grace, UE9 soundstage became VERY BIG, VERY ROOMY, VERY AIRY WITH NATURAL DECAY. IT’S REALLY LIKE I’M IN a CONCERT ROOM INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO A HEADPHONE. These Two setups sound amazing with Ultrasone Edition 9: The ULTIMATE SETUP(Very simple yet startling): 1. Computer Source(Foobar Version 0.8.3 and SRC Rabbit) -> USB -> Freeway 2 -> m902(Crossfeed ON) -> Ultrasone Edition 9(better resolution, involving, exciting, Masculine) Add LISA III here, and the sound will become cuddly, warm, romantic, Laid Back, feminine. The ULTIMATE TRANSPORTABILITY: 2. iMod 5.5G -> ALO SuperCotton Dock -> Vcap -> CablePRO Reverie 2 cable -> LISA III -> Ultrasone Edition 9(More romantic, more relaxing, warmer, and Laid Back) Note: Due to the limitation of LISA III with smaller soundstage and without crossfeed, therefore The Reverie 2 cable is a must in order to make the sound of UE9 very open and big with depth and separation. I have tried panorama, Tara Labs Silver Streak, among other cables and the sound is more up front mixed together slap in your face kind of feeling. This makes UE9 sounds congested and less roomy. It’s definitely no longer 360degrees. You may try other cables as long as it achieves the same goal that is to make UE9 sound very open, surround with tonnes of air. Each instrument must be widely separated from one another better focus and clarity, like listening to a pair of speakers. I would like to apologize, I don’t include any pictures in this post since many were already posted in other threads. 5. Yeah it has only been a couple of months and I have enough fun with it and it's time to go. I'm willing to let it go for SOLD I bought this from Stereo, Woodlands.
  6. Yes it did once after 1.5years and It costed me USD$300.- to replace both drivers. But Sensaphonics sounded much more superior than ES2. Just to continue some sonic differences: It's very unfortunate but I prefer the UM2(UM56) in comparison to ES2. I find UM2(UM56) has a better bass articulation, sweeter midrange, very involving, and less hiss which in turns resulting in darker background(Nice one), the high is Less Harsh or smoother should I say, better decay very musical. I find ES2 to be less articulate, less bass, very 2D flat, analytical, dryer. I hate to come to this conclusion but that's what I found with my ears. Paired with Max-Out Supermacro IV OPA627, UM2(UM56) leaves ES2 to dust. UM2(UM56) becomes 3Dimensional, super-Sweet! addicting. ES2 doesn't seem to respond well with Supermacro IV Max-Out, OPA627. You have to swap your opamp to OPA134, it's got more synergy to ES2.
  7. Hi, I bought it directly with Sensaphonics sending the impression via mail directly to their office in Chicago.
  8. I thought I would like to write a little bit about my personal experience with ES2 and Sensaphonics. Hopefully, this would be beneficial for everyone. It has been a few years since I used Sensaphonics. It has been such a great companion. I just received my ES2 a few days ago, so I thought this would be great time to share some information. For first timers into Custom Mold: I recommend ES2. Why? -The price point of ES2 is making it very attractive. It’s also highly accessible in Singapore. You can always order it through Jaben or Stereo Electronics. I did my impressions at Jaben. It was seemless and painless. It was done right on the spot which means the impressions were still fresh and ready to be shipped to Westone. My ES2 actually came with a perfect fit. I’m noticing the shape and curvature of my ES2 are close or if not identical to the ear impression which I find very surprising. I have done moulds for Sensaphonics, E500, swimming plug, and they are all not identical to the ear impressions. Well it’s definitely not as detailed as this one. -ES2 is also much easier to insert and pull out compared to Sensaphonics(Silicon type). It’s made from a hard, solid, and sturdy material. When you put it properly into your ears you would notice the comfort straight away since you may hear some sort of locking Thug, or click sound when you twist inserting it. After that all you have to do is to press gently at the base without further twisting move to make sure that it’s firmly seated. With Sensaphonics, I’m having a hard time judging whether it has been seated correctly or not. Due to the fact that Sensaphonics are a very soft silicon material, so you tend to insert it too deep inside or over twist it(The silicon is more bentable and stretchable compared to the Acrylic), both however will result in a good seal, but you may notice pressure or tightness feeling inside your ears which are not so comfortable. With overtwisting or overinserting, you may also feel discomfort with Sensaphonics after 1 hour or more usage. Keep in mind that I found no Sealing problems with both Westone and Sensaphonics. You can never have over twisting or over inserting with acrylic material since you will notice a discomfort straight away. The pressure becomes very troublesome when I’m on the plane. With sensaphonics, I’m getting some sort of suction so the sensaphonics pressing very tight onto my ears so it could be quite uncomfortable. I do not notice this problem with ES2 while on the plane. Summary of Sound: Sensaphonics win hands down in terms of tonal balance. The high is good and the bass is very tight and accurate. If you are looking for a more accurate sound presentation, Sensaphonics is for you. Although, ES2 is colored towards midrange, but the midrange itself is very sweet. The instruments are played in a very musical way with good decay. The only problem is that ES2 high is really rolled off compared to Sensaphonics. I’m already used to the sound signature of Sensaphonics which is a lot brighter and more detailed. I have to turn on treblebooster in my iPod everytime I need to use my ES2. Apart from that I think Sound Qualities have been covered many times by other members in the forum which are quite comprehensive. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Jaben and Westone for making this happen. ?
  9. Purchased from Todd on 25th September 2006, Great Stuff, sweetest midrange, airy high, big soundstage, the trademark of SR-71 --SOLD--
  10. So Sorry I don't really know where I could get them in Singapore. I bought it from www.digikey.com and delivered to my door.
  11. By the way, I just tried AD797 today and the bass is much stronger and tighter than OPA627. Please try this opamps.
  12. My supermacro III took 200hours to shine. But I will allow my SM IV to burn-in up to 400hours. It's also getting harder and harder to distinguish the soundstage difference between SR-71 and Supermacro IV with Sensaphonics 2X-S.
  13. Nah, not necessarily. The shipping date should be a lot faster this time since Xin is already in production mode now. Before he was trying to figure out the problems with Supermacro IV, that's why he had to stop shipments and causing a lot of delays.
  14. Well, you need at least 200hours to actually hear a big difference to it. Do you have the same version as mine, maxout with highC Buffer? 50 hours is not even even. I was not even impressed with 100hrs on it. The soundstage is much much bigger at 200hrs. I wouldn't be surprised if it improves further with longer burn-in since even hornet requires 400hours to settle. I will burn in a little while longer to hear the difference. The bigger the soundstage the more laid back the sound is. But then you can try AD797, it's very powerful, the sound will be a lot more forward and involving. Not as laid back.
