hmm.. i read some posts on head-fi saying that the black foam do fit um1.. i'll try it out when jaben has them..

Hey guys... I just read the thread on the new Shure IEMs and found out that Shure has some new foam sleeves. "Black Foam Sleeves New black foam sleeves are tapered, washable, and offer extended durability allowing for longer wear. Gently compress the foam to create a comfortable fit and snug acoustic seal that holds the earphones firmly in place while blocking out ambient noise." Yeah, so just wanna ask if anyone knows whether the new black foam sleeves can fit on UM1. I'm using the grey rubber (i think) tips currently. (I don't use the original orange foam sleeves that came in the UM1 package becuase only the large ones can isolate the noise but the large ones seem to place the driver a bit far away from my ear canal.) But I always can't get a good fit on my left ear. I think my left ear canal is somehow larger than my right. I've been to Jaben to try out the other tips. But only this grey rubber tips fit the best among all the rest. So just wanna know if the new Shure black foam sleeves can be one of the alternative tips for my UM1. All suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated!!!

haha... finally someone who face the same question as me.. lol.. I'm going down to Jaben on fri to test the UE, UM1 and E2 out... =)

Wow.. seems like many ppl r in favour of UM1!!! I might just be like norseman and get settled with UM1 after testing the rest one of these days.. =) counting down the days of getting an IEM... hehe... Wow... Don't you get distortion at all? When I do EQ on my muvo2 fm tx, as long as i reach about +10/12, the sound will be distorted!!! What earphone are you using btw?? Yeah.. You're experiencing distortion of sound.. Nothing to do with your bitrate. =)

Thanks for all the replies... I went to Jaben last wed.. Wilson said the UE will be coming this coming wk!! so I'm going down to Jaben one of these days to test out E2 and UE before deciding what to get... Meanwhile, do continue to post your opinions and comments.. Then I'll get a rough idea of what to expect when I test the 2 IEMs out.. Oh.. wanna find out more about custom earmolds.. What do they actually do? Just to get a better fit and isolation??

Hi guys, This is my first post in here so do guide me along ya? Yeap, I would like to enquire the pros and cons of these 3 IEMs, UM1, E2C and UE before I go down to Jaben to give them a try and decide what to buy. From what I read from reviews on head-fi, UM1's bass is very muddy and this covers all other details of the song while E2C has good slamming bass that satisfies quite a few of the audiophiles. Of course, I'm talking about IEM whithin the price range of $150-$200 cos I"m just a poor student. haha... I've not heard UE though. So just wanna gather more opinions and reviews from you guys about the comparison of these 3 IEMs. All replies and opinions are greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!!! =) Best Regards, Peter
